I entered the huge party hall that was decorated in an 'Outer Space' theme. There were tiny star-shaped yellow lights that covered the entire ceiling. There was a disco ball placed right above the centre of the hall, which defined the dance floor. Round tables with dark blue tablecloths were scattered around the edges of the hall. The tables had star-shaped lamps on them, and were there for drinking and eating, and for students to rest. There was also a mini stage set up near the dance floor, for the DJs and singers to perform from.

I looked around at the other students. The girls had taken an extra effort to dress up, whereas the boys were also looking good in their suits. Whoever was in charge of the decoration should be given extra points for doing such a good job.

Since it was not a prom, there was no need to bring a date. But even though this is not a prom, everyone had taken the party quite seriously!

Till the three of us entered the party, the dance floor had been crowded with dancing maniacs. Everyone was chatting and enjoying the party. The faces that I have been seeing at school for almost a year where are all here. Even the only person that nobody expected to see was here, standing in front of me with an evil smirk on her face. She had on a dazzling black 'bodycon' dress, and had just told me that 'it's time.'

Kate had returned to high school after disappearing for three months. James has made her into a werewolf too, just like Mathew. He has purposely told her to come to me. I have just gotten used to Mathew, and now her!

Kate took a sip of fruit punch from the glass that was in her hand; she then walked back to the dance floor, to continue enjoying the party. She did not wait for my response, and it was as if she had just come to give me a message.

After noticing her hair that was perfectly ironed into long waves, I checked mine, to see whether it had turned into a mess already.

"What did I just see?" Susan sounded as shocked as I was.

"Kate. I guess she is back," Ethan answered. He was still looking at where Kate was walking towards.

"Just like Mathew." I completed his sentence, trying to catch my breath and not show how affected I was by her.

"This is amazing. They get kidnapped for, like, three months, but act as if nothing has happened to them. It is really odd." Her expression changed within seconds - from confusion to happiness to sadness to shock. I am sure Susan must be so confused right now. I kept my mouth shut. If I speak now, I might as well confess all the things I have hidden from her.

"Let's enjoy the party and not let her ruin it."

Finally, we entered the hall after agreeing with Ethan. We stood at one of the tables near the dance floor. After a few minutes, Mathew entered the party too. My eyes immediately caught on to him to see where he was going. He went to Kate and hugged her. Of course, they must have become friends - thanks to James. Josh was busy partying; he had stopped caring about Kate when she disappeared, and they apparently broke up.

I even saw Betty sitting on one of the chairs near me, eating a sandwich. She must still like Josh since she keeps staring at him. Life can be so much better for her if she just looks for a solution - if she can find herself an Ethan. My eyes automatically went towards Ethan who was near the food counter, getting us drinks.

"So did you make a decision about telling him that you love him?" Susan bent and said loudly into my ear since the music was blaring.

"I don't know. Maybe," I replied. I smiled like a silly girl, just thinking about it.

Ethan returned and offered the drinks to us. After we had finished our drinks, the DJ had also started to play slow songs. Ethan offered his hand to me. When I looked at him, he glanced at my hands, indicating that I join him for a dance.

"Ethan, you have to say those words." Even though I did not need him to say it, Susan made sure that it was done properly.

"Can I have this dance?" His caramel smooth voice satisfied my ears, and I accepted his offer by putting my hands on his.

We stood where all the other couples were dancing, but I did not know what to do after that so I confessed, "I don't know how to dance."

"Just follow my lead," he said, taking my left hand and putting it on his right shoulder. He moved one leg forward followed by the other, and then placed them backwards in a rhythmic manner. Since I was a fast learner, I picked up the steps within a few minutes.

"You are good," Ethan said, and I smiled back at him.

We danced for about fifteen minutes and it was one of the best times that I have ever had with him. Now, I was sure about my feelings towards him. It was even the perfect time and place to tell him how I felt.

"Ethan..." I said, diverting his attention away from his thoughts, "I need to tell you something."

He was looking at me now, and I did not wait to say what I had wanted to for so long now.

"I..."

"Anna..." Before I could say another word, he called out my name and spoke, "I want to take you somewhere... special."

Maybe he wants to tell me something too. He may even have a surprise planned for me. I got excited; he always makes my heart flutter by doing these sweet things. I nodded to him.

He took my hand I followed him to where he had planned his surprise. I tried to quickly explain what was going on to Susan. She made a thumbs-up sign with her hand. Nobody else cared about what was going on between Ethan and me, since they were too busy enjoying the party.

As we left the hall, Ethan prepared the limo and we sat down to head off to this 'special place.' There was silence between us the whole journey. It was not awkward, but comforting. I knew that he would talk only after we reach our destination, so I didn't trouble him with any silly questions on the way.

Darkness had spread, making it difficult for me to know where exactly we were going. Since Ethan was with me, I was not at all worried. The entire journey, my heart was beating fast with excitement.

"We are here. Let's go," he said in his calm voice and held my hand again.

There were lots of trees around us. After walking for a while, I could see a lit-up spot. That must be where he is taking me. There was enough light on the open ground that we now stood at. It was not as if he was going to propose to me, but going to a place with some seating arrangement would have been better.

Ethan faced me, still holding my hands. His eyes which were filled with happiness when we were at the party hall, now looked sad. Maybe he is overcome with emotion - by now, I had learnt that he was that kind of a person. I kept quiet, giving him space to think and speak when he was ready.

"I am sorry..." His voice stuttered with nervousness. I kept still, letting him complete his sentence. "... and forgive me for all that I have done because it was for a very important reason." He left my hand.

"Annabeth." I heard a voice behind me, all of a sudden. A voice that still terrified me to death. A voice I had never wanted to hear again. I turned back to see James approaching, with his pack behind him. This time he wore a leather jacket along with a white t-shirt, and black skinny jeans to complete his edgy look. He was a bad-boy to the core.
