The new girl

Chpt 14

I walked into Landons room and I didn't see him so I went lay down. He walked out the bathroom and laid down next to me. "Wanna watch a movie?" Before I knew it I started talking. "I want to try to care again, I want to try a relationship with you." He laid there stunned by my words. Then he finally spoke. "Ok."

We sat and talked and he told me about his best-friend. "His name was Evan, we played football together. We did everything together, we were like brothers. He broke up with his girlfriend and that night at the game his ex walked in the middle of the field and shot him 3x. Everyone ran in a panic, I ran up to him and she was going to shoot me. He shielded me and she shot him again, the bullet only grazed me. She was taken down by nearby officers. They placed her mentally unstable and she was sent away. He died later that night. It was the hardest day of my life."
Tears fell down my face I felt horrible. All this time I was making things about myself and he was broken just like me.
I hugged him and told him how sorry I was. I kept thinking and I knew I was ready. God must've put him in my life for a reason. He was my second chance at life and I was his. We can make each other better.
Show each other how to love again.
We talked for a while then he brought me home. I got in the house and my dad was cooking. I wasn't sure how to react because he was never home and never cooked. "Hey." "Hey lay, can we talk?" I sat down as he started talking. "I know the past few years have been hard in the both of us but I miss my little girl and I want to try and communicate and become father and daughter again." His words warmed my heart. I had pushed him away all these years and finally we can start to heal properly.

We talked about things. I told him about Landon and he said he wanted to meet him first. He was happy for me, we talked about his job he said his troupe would be deployed in a couple of months but it's not official. We talked for a bit but I got tired so I went lay down. I texted landon and fell asleep he was picking me up tomorrow to go to church. I had never been so I was excited.
