The new girl

Chpt: 31

I pulled into kianee's driveway not long after. I hadn't seen her or spoke to her since graduation and I'm sure she's furious with me. But I pushed myself to get out the car. I picked Alicia up and walked towards the door. I became more anxious and had a sudden feeling of dejavu . But I knocked on the door two times  and before I could even begin to walk away kianee was opening the door. She had a shocked look on her face but then noticed Alicia and looked liek she was going to pass out. She's changed since I'd last seen her, she dyed her hair black and looked different. "Hey ki, I'm sorry for popping up i know I have a lot of explaining to do but can me and the baby please stay the night." She looked dazed and embraced me into a big hug. I know Alicia was confused but with my free arm I held her close, I had missed her so much.

We'd put my things in her bedroom and sat on the bed as I rocked Alicia to sleep. "So tell me everything Laylay." She spoke, and that's when I told her why I left and how beau saved me. Then came Alicia up until now. "You know we would've all been here for you. But I understand why things were hard. And I can't stay mad at my bestie forever." I giggled. "Yea, hopefully we can figure out a parenting plan because landons parents aren't happy." "Well we can start looking for a place for us to stay tomorrow." I looked at her. "Us?" She laughed. "Well yea I've been needing to move out anyway how's a good time." I put Alicia down to sleep and me and ki  caught up a little more before going to bed. Things were finally looking up again and maybe I'd have the life I'd always wanted. I drifted away into a deep sleep only to be wakes up the next morning by kianee. "Laylay, Laylay get up the baby's crying and I don't know what to do." I opened my eyes and started laughing at how kianee was so frightened. I walked over to Alicia and picked her to feed her, as I did that kianee got her laptop out. "It's 10:30, we can start house hunting today. I'm not sure we're ready to get a house so how about a condo? Or medium sized apartment?" I thought about it and I'd always wanted a condo so depending on prices I'd like to try that. "Yea a condos sounds fine. But first I have to bring Alicia to landons so we can go to open houses." She began searching on her laptop as I got alicias things together. We'd seen a few condos we really liked and decided to go check them out. So we got everything together and got in the car to go to landons.

We got there and went inside to set up all alicias things. "So uhh where are y'all going?" Landon asked. "Well we both need somewhere to stay so we're going condo hunting." He looked at me a little shocked. "Oh uhhh, yea so like condos in the area?" I giggled. "Don't worry we're not going far." He smiled. "I know, uhhh why don't y'all let me tag along?" I turned to kianee who was in the corner playing with Alicia. She hasn't heard his comment so I just turned back towards landon. "I mean that's sounds awesome but what about Alicia she has a schedule." He started thinking and then he said. "My parents can watch her!" I wasn't exactly excited about idea giving the fact that they aren't exactly happy with me but they would take good care of her. "Ok well go get them so I can let them know her schedule." Landon left the room and shortly after came back with his parents. "Hey, do y'all mind watching Alicia while we go condo hunting? I understand if it's too much of a burden.." before I could finish his mom interrupted me. "Of course we can she still our grand baby!! We don't mind one bit." It was really nice that they pushed aside our differences to care for her. "Yea so I breast feed her so I have about 3 bottles, I usually feed her every few naps in the morning and after then before I put her to bed. She has all her diapers, baby monitor, extra clothes, and all she needs in her diaper bag. Oh and she can't sleep w/o her blue binky." His mom walked toward me and wrapped her arms around me holding me tight. "It's ok well take good care of her, and I already see how much of a great mother you are." Her words were so kind my heart was warmed.
