The rise of Voltron

It's been at least a decent year since "disappearing" from the Garrison. In truth my test group had malfunctions out in space and after being abducted I managed to escape with only a scar along my neck (I was scratched at the time but the injuries have since disappeared.)I returned back to earth far out into the dessert and meet a boy a little younger than me named Keith.

We lived in a small shack away from society and for the first week we knew each other he was trying his best to help me with all of the injuries I had acquired and I was trying my best to welcome people into my life. Keith had believed me when I told him about my crew anything I can remember really. And from that we constructed a plan, we would find his kind of mentor Shiro and hopefully my brother one day. That day was today, almost a month after coming back to earth.

"Hey Keith there's something falling from the sky" I spoke taking off the binoculars and handing them over to him
"That's one of the galras ships" Keith exclaimed handing the binoculars back to me
"Keith let's go" I commanded and Keith nodded running to his hover bike. I slipped on behind him and gripped the sides as Keith speed up as we came closer to the garrison and the crash site.
"We need a distraction Iris" Keith whispered and I nodded
"Pass me those bombs" I whispered and Keith nodded handing me a bag.
"Hey Keith once I come back get ready to drive quick" I whisper yelled as I dashed ducking behind a rock. I sat down the bombs in a row and unraveled a line to them. I hit two rocks together making a spark and bolted to Keith jumping on over the side.
"Go" I whispered as Keith did a wide circle hiding behind a rock as we got off and crouched waiting for the bombs to go off. I looked to Keith at the sound of the explosion. I ran beside Keith heading directly for the garrisons tents. I ran down a hallway stopping at a closed door.
"Hey get them" one of the garrisons workers called but me and Keith were ready. I punched one knocking him back into the operating table and kicked another who feel down in a heap next to his two other buddy's.
"Shiro" Keith whispered as I walked over to the mans other side. Keith hacked off his restraints and I jumped over the operating table to help lift him up.
"Oh no no no no no. I'm saving Shiro" some kid said walking into the room and elbowing me.
"Who are you" Keith asked and I nodded.
"The names Lance. We were like rivals you know. Lance and Keith neck and neck." The kid explained and Keith raised an eyebrow
"Oh your one of the cargo pilot's aren't you" Keith asked in a accusing tone.
"Not anymore thanks to you flunking out I've gotten a spot " Lance explained.
"Well congrats"
"I hate to bother this but those guys are coming back and they do not look happy" some chunky kid explained and the two boys helped carry Shiro out and I walked from behind. We all piled onto the hover bike and it almost tipped over. Keith started it up and we took off slowly. The Lance kid was behind him, me and a short girl or boy were holding Shiro, and the chubby kid was behind us.
"Why the heck am I holding this man" the kid asked earning a glare from me and Lance
"Can't this thing go any faster" Lance asked looking over his shoulder
"Yeah just need to toss off some extra weight"
"Oh I get it that's a slight at me" Lance mumbles
"Hey big man lean left" Keith orders and he complies and I watch as two of the garrisons vehicles crash. The chubby man muttered something and I watched as more seemed to catch up
"Lean right" I called and he complied.
"Woah is that a cliff" Lance called
"Yep" Keith responded and sped up flying off the edge. Everyone else screamed and I don't know if it was me being used to Keith I didn't care
"Great driving Keith" I smiled as Lance gawked at me
"Both of you are out of your mind" Lance screamed

I walked out early in the morning to Shiro with Keith at my side
"It's good to have you back." Keith said as I walked to Shiro's left side
"Heh. It's good to be back" Shiro spoke looking to me
"So what happened out there? Where.. were you?" Keith asked
"I wish I could tell you. My heads still pretty scrambled. I was on...an alien ship but... somehow I escaped. It's all a blur. How did you know to come save me when I crashed?" Shiro asked Keith who motioned to me.
"That would be all her." Keith said and Shiro smiled at me
"I think you should come see this" I spoke motioning for them to follow. I let Keith lead the way and he showed the lot of us to his cork board of a map with diagrams and notes.
"What have you been working on?" Shiro asked inspecting the board
"I can't explain it, really. After getting booted from the Garrison, I was kinda...lost and... felt myself drawn out to this place. It's like something... some energy, was telling me to search." Keith explained and I watched Lance roll his eyes.
"For what?" Shiro asked
"Well I didn't really know at the time... until I stumbled across this area. It's an outcropping of giant boulders with caves covered in these ancient markings. Each tells a slightly different story about a blue lion, but they all share clues leading to some event, some arrival happened last night. Then you showed up" Keith explained looking over to Shiro
"... I should... thank you all for getting me out. Lance, right ?" Shiro's said holding out his prosthetic hand. Lance hesitated before shaking, he turned to the other two boys and the shorter one was the only one to accept his hand.
"The nervous guys Hunk. I'm Pidge. So did anyone else from your crew make it out?" Pidge asked
"I'm not sure. I remember the mission and being captured. I remember Iris. After that it's bits and pieces." Shiro explained and Lance gave me a wink which I responded by glaring
"Oh your Iris Dallas right? The pilot and engineer for the second Kerberos mission right?" Pidge asked and I nodded
"Yeah that would be me pleasure to meet you" I spoke shaking the threes hands
"Yeah sorry to interrupt, but back to the aliens. Where are they now? Are they coming? Are they coming for all of us? Like where are they at this very moment?" Hunk asked
"I can't really put it together. I-I remember the word "Voltron". It's some kind of weapon they're looking for, but I don't know why." Shiro explained
"Whatever it is, I think we need to find it before they do." I said earning a nod from everyone else
"Well last night, I was rummaging through Pidge's stuff, and I found this picture. Look it's his girlfriend." Hunk said holding up a photo of the young kid in front of us with a girl. I looked at Pidge as they stole the photo back, I didn't really think Pidge was a boy just going off of the ages in the photo with the boy being at least 18 while the kid in front of me was at least 16 if not younger.
"Hey, gimme that! What were you doing in my stuff?" Pidge retorted and hunk looked around nervously avoiding the younger child's glare
"I wa-I was looking for a candy bar. But then I started reading his diary." Hunk said pulling out Pidge's diary. Pidge stole it back
"WHAT?!" they practically demanded and I sighed watching the scene play out in front of me
"And I noticed that the repeating series of numbers the aliens are searching for looks a lot like a fraunhofer line." Hunk said
"Frown... who?" Keith asked and I sighed
"Correct me if I'm wrong but it's a number describing the emission spectrum of an element" I spoke as everyone turned to me
"Exactly only this element doesn't exist on earth. I thought it might be this Voltron, and I think I can build a machine to look for it, kinda like a Voltron Geiger Counter." Hunk continued
"Hunk you big, gassy genius" Lance said and Hunk smiled nervously
"It's pretty fascinating, really"
"And pretty simple to understand" I muttered earning a glare from Lance
"Th- The wavelength looks like this." Hunk spoke pulling out a graph eyeing me and Lance. Keith grabs the map from him
"Give me that." Keith said walking over to his board matching the wavelengths appearance to an array of boulders both me and him have seen and he has a photo of.
