The rise of Voltron pt.2

"Princess, you must eat. It's been 10,000 years!" Coran urged Allura as she stood around the sleep pod console
"I'm not hungry" she muttered as Lance held up his fingers counting away
"Man, 10,00 years? That's like one thousand plus ten." Lance said raising his eyebrows as Keith groaned
"That's times ten." Keith said going off at Lance again for what seemed like the eighth time today
"Whatever, dropout." Lance said turning to face Keith directly as Hunk sighed
"I haven't eaten since breakfast and I'm starving." Hunk sighed and Pidge groaned
"Yeah, but you've thrown up, like, five times." Pidge spoke adjusting her? Their? His? glasses.
"Hmm... good point." Hunk spoke digging into the plate of food goo. He seemed disgusted but continued to eat it regardless as Shiro turned to Allura and Coran.
"I can't believe your civilization created such advanced technology 10,00 years ago. It must have been an incredible place." Shiro said smiling his god perfect smile. I might be a bit in love but whatever I'm not going to point that much out, promise.
"Yes it was... but now it is gone and we're some of the last Alteans alive." Coran spoke with a grim face as he pulled the princess into a hug, as a squeak echoed throughout this little control room. Allura smiles as four mice with the same altean markings emerge from the sleep pod.
"Looks like we're not the last, after all." She spoke and Coran nodded keeping the grim face
"I thought my sister made it" Coran muttered quietly and I quirked an eyebrow looking towards him
"Sister?" I enquired and he turned to face me
"Yes, she wasn't on Altea at the time but she's probably gone thanks to the galra." Coran spoke before fully looking up at me his eyes widening in some sort of realization. Before he could say anything the alarms on this castle blared an a Galra warship appears on screen.
"A Galra battleship has set its tracker to us!" Coran exclaimed and in my head I was doing a happy dance that he hadn't realized the very obvious truth of the Altean in front of him.
"How did they find us?!" Allura exclaimed starting up at the hologram sort of pissed
"I'm not sure, but I bet it's Keith's fault." Lance said and I sighed holding back a groan and Keith spun on his heal very done with Lance.
"Say whatever you've got to say to make yourself feel better... after getting us stuck on the other side of a Wormhole!" Keith exclaimed very close to losing his temper
"I'LL STICK YOU IN A WORMHOLE!" Lance exclaimed him and Keith with their foreheads touching very annoyed and appeared ready to fit. Shiro walked almost slide over quickly inserting himself into the conversation.
"Stow it, cadets! This is no time to place blame, it's time to work as a team. How long before they arrive?" Shiro asked looking over to Coran.
"At their speed? Oh, well, uh, carry the two... I'd say probably a couple of days?" Coran said counting before twirling his moustache.
"Good. Let them come! By the time they get here, you six will have reformed Voltron, and together, we will destroy Zarkon's empire"
Allura exclaimed and Hunk burped
"Sorry! Food goo." He whispered as I look over to Allura
"Princess, there are six of these lions. How are we going to find the rest?" Shiro asked and Allura motioned for us to follow her.

We entered a large room in the castle with a crystal above a circle, Allura moves past us to the circle and stands in it
"King Alfor connected the lions to Allura's and my sisters life force. They alone are the key to the lions whereabouts." Coran explained as Allura activates a computer, opening up a map of the entire universe. Everyone gasped as they looked around taking in the spaces.
"These are... coordinates. The black lion looks like it's in the same location as the blue lion. And oh, the aqua lion looks like it's almost over top of them." Pidge said as I moved to the other side of Shiro making it so I was almost touching the control box.
"Look at your primitive synapses firing away in their little brain cage!" Coran spoke bending down close to Pidge
"Very observant that's because the aqua lion is on Arus and the black lion is in the castle." Allura spoke and Coran turned to us
"To keep the black lion out of Zarkon's hands, King Alfor locked it in the castle. It can only be freed if the other five lions are present." He explained and I nodded
"As you have found, the lion chooses their pilots. It is a mystical bond and cannot be forced. The quintessence of the pilot is mirrored in his or her lion. Together, they form something greater than science can explain." Allura said as she sent the black lion hologram towards Shiro and the aqua one towards me.
"The black lion is the decisive head of Voltron. It will take a pilot who is a born leader and in control at all times, someone whose men follow without hesitation. That is why Shiro, you will pilot the black lion." Allura spoke taking a breath before turning to me
"The aqua lion is the second in command and needs a pilot capable of working under pressure. The pilot needs to be a leader and values everyone's safety above their own, Iris you will pilot the aqua lion" Allura said as I looked to the lion projection in front of me. Allura continued moving the green lion to Pidge and so on explaining the lion to their pilot. Coran said something mainly to Lance and Keith as the holographic lions roared and charged together forming Voltron.
"Once all the lions are united, you will form Voltron, the most powerful warrior ever known, the Defender of the universe." Allura said as the holographic image of Voltron stood mighty and powerful
"Awesome" Hunk smiled as Pidge gave an oh sounding slightly defeated
"Wait. Okay, we're going to be in there and flying lions. Got that part. How do lions turn into legs? Also is this going to be a long trip? Because I have to pee. Do you people pee?" Hunk ask as Shiro turned to us humans, well humans and me the hybrid
"You know we don't have much time. Pidge and I will go after the green lion. Lance, you take Hunk and get the yellow one. Iris you go after the aqua lion and Keith, you stay here. If you locate that red lion, go get it." Shiro urged and I nodded
"In the meantime, I'll get this castles defences ready. They'll be sorely needed." Allura said as she nodded to Coran
"I'll ready a pod a-and load in the coordinates so that you can reach the green lion." Coran spoke looking to Pidge and Shiro. The four of them left as I looked back to Allura and Keith.

"So can I just walk out?" I asked and Allura nodded pointing to a forested area
"Do you see that forest over there"
"Yeah" I responded
"The aqua lion resides in a cave close to the top of the forested area, you found the blue lion so I'm sure you'll be able to find the aqua lion rather easily. It's not that far of a walk so about 45 minutes" Allura spoke and I nodded slipping out of the room.
I stepped outside and sighed taking in the view before swiftly walking off down the bridge keeping my focus on the forest not that far off in the distance. I must admit the planet of Arus was rather beautiful, and the closer I got to the forest the more I felt like I was home.
Like I was with my real mother and father, sitting by the crystal clear lake by their cottage. With the wind blowing through the trees causing them to sway, my used to be short hair blowing in the wind as I jumped into the lake feeling the bliss coldness of it costing my skin. Home, something I wanted but something I can't have, I have a new roll now.
I stepped into the forest and closed my eyes feeling something resonating with in me. I opened my eyes again walking briskly towards the mountain as images of the cave flashed in my mind. I ran my hand along the mountain feeling some energy with in me. The carvings similar to the ones of the blue lion light up around me and I smiled as the light blue almost aqua altean markings under my check light up, illuminating my figure in a blue light.
The floor beneath me crumbled away and I gently floated down in front of the magnificent aqua lion.
The aqua lion was a bit shorter than the blue lion and seemed to be it great shape. I rested my hand against the force field and it slowly dripped away the lions eyes giving off light.
"Your magnificent" I whispered as the lion lowered its head down opening its mouth. I smiled walking and sitting down on the pilots chair.
"Please work, aqua I hope to be a good paladin to you. I'm sorry that I have to hide my true self aqua. I can't let the galra find out, I can't risk letting everyone get hurt due to my family's heritage." I sighed as the lion roared and the chair moved forward into the cockpit
"Thank you, you are a truly special lion" I whispered as my altean markings disappeared away from my cheeks and aqua burst from the cave soaring high in the air.
"Good work Iris" I heard Alluras voice call as I flew the lion towards the castle and set it down in the courtyard . I toke my hands off of the control as the lion lowered its head, I slipped out seeing Keith run out towards me and my lion.
"Wow, she's magnificent" Keith breathed bending over trying to catch his breath.
"I know right, have you found anything on the red lions whereabouts?" I asked and Keith nodded standing up and walking inside. I followed and headed back into the bridge waiting for everyone else to get back. Pidge and Shiro returned not that soon after me and Hunk and Lance a couple minutes behind them.
"You made it." Allura chirps and Lance groans
"Yeah, just barely. That was a nightmare. I almost puked out there. I felt like Hunk!" Lance exclaimed
"Think how I feel. I am Hunk." Hunk commented as I smiled
"Yeah... We had a tough time too." Pidge said smiling at shiro
"Such a hard time" I agreed smiling as Lance frowned at me
"I'm starting to really get annoyed with that tone Princess" Lance mouthed as Shiro turned to Keith.
"Did we find the red lion yet?" Shiro asked and Coran twiddled his moustache again
"Allura just located it. There's a bit of good news and bad news. The good news is, the red lions nearby. The bad news is, it's on board that galra ship orbiting Arus. But wait, good news again. We're Arus!" Coran exclaimed and I frowned turning towards the older man
"They're here already?" I asked gawking a bit.
"Yes. Guess my calculations were a bit off. Finger counting- I-it's more of an art than a science." Coran muttered looking away from my glare to the video transmission that suddenly appeared on Allura's screen.
"Princess Allura, this is Commander Sendak of the galra empire. I come on behalf of Emperor Zarkon, lord of the known universe. I am here to confiscate the lions. Turn them over to me, or I will destroy your planet." One of the garland said as the transmission ended and the screen went blank.
