Chapter 26

Previously on Chapter 25

Kimimaro try to stop him. But I appear in front of him. The sharp edge of my sword is pointing at his neck. "Not so fast... I'll be your opponent..." I said. "L/N Y/N... lord Orochimaru also mentioned you. He wants me to get you as well..." he said. I clutch my sword tighter. "Like hell he will!" I spat at him. I don't care about my well being. I need to fight this guy. Only one thought inside my head as I ready myself for battle.

Naruto... please bring back Sasuke

-Battle Against Kimimaro-

Y/N P.O.V

He move the shirt on his shoulder. Then his bone starts protruding. He holds the bone and pulls it out. I shudder in disgust.

"Okay that's creepy..." I said. He just stay silent as he looks at me. Not the time to feel creeped out. I need to fight him, or he's going to kill me... Saphira lend me your strength... I said to her. As much as you need, Kid... she said. I feel her chakra starting to flow in me.

Then I run forward and start attacking Kimimaro. He deflect all of my attack and manage to land a hit on me.

This guy is really fast... I said to Saphira, nearly out of breath. You have to be careful, Kid... this guy is dangerous! Saphira warns me. I got it... I reply. I will the chakra to form a pair of wings on my back and fly upwards.

He starts shooting his bones at me, as if they were a bunch of bullets. Some manage to hit me, creating a deep wound on my skin. The wounds on my body is bleeding rapidly. Slowly I start to lose consciousness from all the blood loss. My eyes sight starts to going in and out of focus. No... I can't give up now... but I don't have anymore strength.

I can feel the wings on my back disappear and I start to fall. I close my eyes, ready for the pain. But it did not come. I realize I'm in someone's arms. I open my eyes to see Lee. "Lee..." I said. He smiles at me. "You will be okay now... you can rest... I'll fight him..." he said, placing me down gently on the ground.

I lay down on my back and let the remaining chakra in me flow to the wounds. But there are too much wounds and I only have a little amount of chakra. I can only manage to close a few. So in the end, I'm not going anywhere as the blood keeps on flowing out.

I watch as Lee fight with Kimimaro. Then he asks for a bit of time to drink medicine, which turns out to be sake. So long story short, he got drunk and perform the Drunken Fist technique. Didn't know he have that. But I shouldn't be surprise, I mean... he's excel in taijutsu.

At some point, Lee pretended to be sleeping only to attack Kimimaro with surprise attack. He keeps on going for a while, until Kimimaro lands a hit on Lee's cheek getting him out of his drunken state.

Kimimaro hits Lee, sending him flying and he lands next to me. "Now you both are going to die!" He said. I cover my face, but nothing came. I slowly remove my hands away from my face. I was shock to see sand forming a dome in front of me and someone is standing behind me. I turn around to see Gaara.

"Are you okay?" He asks, kneeling down next to me. I nod my head slowly. "I'm okay..." I said. He smiles and place a soft kiss on my forehead. Then he notice my still bleeding wounds. His face turns into anger as he turns and glares at Kimimaro. "How dare you hurt my girl! No one can hurt my girl and get away with it!" He screams. Then Gaara starts to fight him.

In the end, Kimimaro died. Apparently he have some kind of sickness and he didn't even have much time. But because of his loyalty to Orochimaru, he is still willing to fight till his last breath. Why can he just see that Orochimaru was just using him. That poor guy...

I try to stand up, but my body is too weak. I stumble and lands into someone's arms. Gaara looks down at me with a worried gaze. "Y/N... if you're not strong enough, don't try to walk. What if you hurt yourself even more? Come on... let's get you back to the village... your wounds are still bleeding out..." he said. Then he picks me up, bridal style. I slowly start to close my eyes, the last thing I remember is Gaara saying something to me. Then everything blacks out. He said....

Keep your heart beating for me... I love you... don't leave me, Y/N...

Time Skip

When I open my eyes, I realize I'm laying in the hospital bed. My whole body is covered in bandages and it's all aching painfully.

The next thing I notice is the warmth in my hands. I turn my head both sides to see Gaara, holding my right hand and Naruto on the left. "Guys..." I said, my voice is hoarse. It's as if I haven't spoke in weeks.

Gaara who's only looking down snaps his head to look at me, while Naruto slowly starts to wake up. I try to sit up, but Gaara push me down gently. "Don't get up yet... you need more rest..." he said. I just nod my head, too weak to argue. Then I turn to look at Naruto. "Did you succeed?" I asks. He looks down, but I can see the sad look in his eyes. "I'm sorry Y/N-Chan... I can't bring him back..." he said. "Naruto..." I said. I held his hand and give it a gentle squeeze. "We'll bring him back someday... don't worry..." I said. He looks up at me and nod his head slowly. Then he turns to look at Gaara. "I'm going to leave you both now... Gaara, take care of her... if you hurt her, I'll kill you..." Naruto said. Which makes Gaara smiles "I won't... I promise... I love Y/N so much..." he said. Naruto smiles at him and left the room.

Gaara leans down and place a gentle kiss on my lips. Then he leans his forehead against mine, his hand still holding onto mine tightly but not to tight to hurt me. "I thought I was going to lose you, Y/N..." he said. I can hear the sadness in his voice. He pulls back slightly and stare deeply into my eyes. "I love you so much... I can't imagine my life without you. Please don't scare me like that again..." he said. A few tears streams down his cheeks. I raise my hand and wipe them away. "I love you too, Gaara... I'm not going anywhere..." I said. "Promise?" He asks. I nod my head with a soft smile. He smiles back and leans in for another kiss.
