Riley

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch!!!

Getting up from bed was like hell. Any movement that uses the upper body is practically killing me. My hand brushed to the other side of the bed... Marcus wasn't here.

Heartless, clueless, brainless jellyfish...

"Elizabeth!!!" I shouted from my bed. I needed someone to help me get up from bed. Since my good for nothing husband left, I guess the only other person is Elizabeth.

"Yes?" She pushed open the room door while holding a first aid box with the other hand.

"I'm not sure what the heck Marcus told you, but I just need you to help me get out of bed... And maybe help to dress me." I kicked the blanket off, twist and turned to give Elizabeth the perfect angle to help me get up.

"Thank you." I finally got up on my feet.

"Do you need a walking stick?" Elizabeth said while making the bed.

"Nooooo! Elizabeth I'm not all useless." I got up my to my feet and started to walk slowly.

"Ding-dong"

"I'll get it!!" I wobbled to the door to prove to Elizabeth that I wasn't all useless. I took little baby steps until I reached the door.

"Are you Riley Anderson?" A post man appeared at the front door with a bouquet of roses.

I was surprised. I signed and took the bouquet of roses. The roses were spotlight red, with the aroma of a freshly groomed garden. There was a letter stuck in between all the roses. The letter was rose scented and light pink in color. The letter wrote...

Dear Riley,
I'm sorry for everything that happened last night. It was my fault.
These roses for you. I know it doesn't turn back time, but I hope it could at least make up for my selfishness.
I told DB that you'll not be coming to work, hope you'll rest well.
I'll come home as soon as possible.
About London, we'll go next week.
From,
Marcus.

Oh boy...

On the inside, I was jumping for joy. But on the outside, I was wondering whether I could let Marcus off the hook do easily... Maybe I should make him feel guilty a little longer. A grin unintentionally slipped my mouth.

I put the 100 roses into a nearby vase. And wobbled to the wardrobe and put on a sweater and some shorts.

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch!!!

Just trying to put my head through the sweater killed me. In Heinz sight, maybe instead of running out of the house last night, I should have just thrown a vase at him. That would be so much easier.

I wobbled a lot like a penguin. Even a penguin couldn't walk as good as me.

Ring-ring!!

My phone rang. Damn, where's my phone. I wobbled as fast as I could but I couldn't find it. "Elizabethhhh!!! Where's my phone?" Elizabeth found my phone in my handbag that was in the wardrobe.

"Hello?" I answered the phone.

"Hey Riley, you feeling better?" It was Marcus.

"I'm walking like a penguin... What do you think genius!" I wobbled to a nearby chair.
