Marcus
Hockey sticks, scratched ice, and sweaty rich guys in helmets were every where.
"Pass the ball !!"
"GOAL!!!"
"In your face Ritchie!"
Was it just me, or did I just sit in a time machine that flew me back to when I was a high schooler. This was a long due match. Something's never change.
"High five!" Harry skated to me throwing a high five.
"Awesome shot dude." He complimented for that previous goal.
"Yeah, I'm gonna take a time out." I skated away from the hockey ring, and to the stands at the side.
I took of my skates, helmets, and padded gear. My head was spinning. Hangovers don't just disappear overnight. It was getting to my head, I was starting to see overlap images. My mind couldn't focus, the only thing I could see was the inside of my eyelids.
I threw my hockey stick aside, and rested my head on the bench. I threw my arm over my face, covering from the blaring spotlight.
"Dude you okay?" I heard Harry's voice.
I lifted my arms from my face, and pushed myself up. He threw his hockey helmet towards my stomach. I gripped it with my hands firmly, before putting it between my legs.
"Yeah." My mind still spacing out.
He tilted his head back and chuckled, "The bad thing about being a doctor, you can't cure yourself."
"I'm fine." I said while throwing his helmet back to him.
He fumbled to catch it until he got grip and started spinning it on his index finger. "Anyways, we gotta go get the girls soon."
I got up, took all my hockey gear, and lightly pushed Harry to aside, "Let's go now."
"Wow, you look more tired than usual, busy night?" He wiggled his eyebrow at me, and a huge smirk appeared on his face.
"Shut up." I didn't look at him, nor did I bother to explain why or how I wasn't myself today.
We bundle the guys up and went to the ice skating ring that was just a stone throw away from the hockey ring.
It just occurred to me that Riley doesn't know how to skate... This is gonna be a interesting show.
We stood around the ring, looking at the girls skate. Riley was like an ugly duckling amongst a flock of swans. Everyone was having a great time, then you could see Riley wobbling from side to side, looking like she could fall down any minute.
I tried to keep a stern face than bursting into laughter.
"Hey girls time to leave." Nash announced to the girls.
I nudged Harry a little. "Where are we going now?"
"Sports car racing. What else." He grinned at me.
Damn, I'd usually love sports car racing and the sensation that it brings me. But now with this hangover, I don't think it's my best deck of cards.
I saw Riley walk past me with her new found friend Miley. And here I was hoping that she would opt me out of this.
"Marcus you don't look so good." I felt a pair of delicate hands touch my arm.
I turned around and looked at Kimberly, "I'm fine."
Her eyes brought looks of weary. She forced a smile slipping her hand onto my shoulder. She tip toes and whispered into my ear "If you're not, I can help you tell Riley. I know you as well you know me. Don't hurt yourself."
I nodded, not moving, simply just staring at her. Waiting for her to get off me.
What did she mean when she said she knew me as well as I knew her. I only knew Kimberly for a month...
She got off me and walked beside me silently. She finally left me when she went and get her car and me to get mine.
Brian gave each of us the coordinates to the location. Whoever reach there first clearly wins. If I still remember UK properly that road should lead to one of Brian's grandparents house.
We got into our respective cars and sped down the lane. As soon as we got off the busy streets of London. It was full speed ahead. Cutting every turn, and accelerating after one.
I didn't go full speed, going full speed with a hangover is like pushing myself into my own grave.
The only thing going through my mind at that specific moment was to survive this train wreck.
Ultimately every competition has it end. And I ended third... Which was surprisingly well. I stepped out the car, heading towards Harry, asking for the next agenda installed.
"Marcus. I beat you!" Suddenly Nicki ran towards me, hanging onto me with her legs tightening around my waist.
My instincts told me to shrug her off. But I didn't. I replied "It's called Lady Luck." Then I sat her onto the car hood, and turned around facing Harry.
Brian then replied for him. "We are going to get drunk what else." He said with a smirk across his face.
Then Harry continued, "Over a good old game of never have I ever."
We then all went into Brian's grandparents house. Which was space and empty. I'm not sure who the heck lives here, but someone obviously was because when we went in the fireplace was lighted, and the house smelled like freshly baked cookies.
We all sat in a circle. With Riley at my right, and Harry at my left. Brian put a glass of wine if front of us, and the bottle in the middle.
"I'll start." Ritchie volunteered. "Easy one first, never have I ever had a crush on someone here."
Everyone drank except for Harry.
Then it was Brian's turn. "Never have I ever gave a present for someone here for Valentines."
Everyone drank except for me, Riley and Harry.
Harry raised an eyebrow at me. "You never gave Riley a Valentine's Day present?" He mouthed to me.
I just shrugged my shoulder and chuckled. We haven't even gotten to Valentine's Day yet.
In the middle of the game I felt like crap. A hangover plus more alcohol does not add up to a good equation. God knows how I was going to drive home.
It was Nicki's turn. "Never have I ever kissed someone from this circle other than my spouse."
Brian and Nicki drank. Kimberly and I made eye contact with each other, before picking our glasses up.
And this round, everyone had their eyes on me and Kim...
