Riley

I'm not sure how long I have been siting at the same table the whole night. Spying on Marcus's every move.

I ordered some light champagne, sipping on it from time to time. I rested my chin against my fist, looking pathetic while everyone else is having a blast getting drunk and tearing it down on the dance floor.

Everything was going fine when Marcus was talking to some dude at the bar. They weren't throwing high fives or any fist bumps. They were talking seriously, taking gulps at their beer.

Suddenly a girl draped her arms across Marcus's friends chest. But to me, as long as she didn't do that to Marcus, I was fine. She gave him a sloppy kiss, as though she was trying to tell the whole world he was hers.

Marcus would never do that to me. It felt as though he didn't want anyone to know we are married. He never liked to wear his wedding ring, always claiming that it's bothersome to take it off during work and operations. I was okay with that... But him not daring to tell his friends that we are married... That I wasn't okay with.

After that little commotion with the kissing girl, I noticed Marcus turned his head towards a certain direction. Looking at a specific something or someone. He left the bar and walked towards the direction. My eyes trailed him as he moved.

It was Camila. Again.

He stood at a safe distant when he reached her table. But as soon she saw him, she sprung up to her feet, inching closer to Marcus.

I wanted to punch the table into half. I fisted my hands next to me. A sign of frustration wrote across my face.

I drank heavily as I saw them talk. Noticing that they were having a great time. It made the frustration become more intense, making me drink even more.

I wasn't sure when or how many glasses I've been drinking, but I started getting light headed. Everything around me was a haze. I tried my best to keep my eyelids open, but failed miserably. The last thing I saw was Camila reaching her hand for Marcus's.

Or at least that was what I thought happened.

Marcus

I saw Riley passed out and fast asleep soundly with her arms around tucked under her to head. A sign of relief slipped my breath. I was so glad she wasn't hurt. Drunk, but not hurt.

I'm not sure what people thought of me when I defended her, but who cares what they think.

I lifted her into my arms, carrying her out and into my car. I smiled at how pure and innocent she looked when she was asleep.

As I put her in my car, I heard footsteps running towards us.

I fastened Riley's seatbelt at the passenger seat. "What now." I turned around facing Camila. Her heavy makeup couldn't hide her blood shot eyes.

"I'm sorry." She muttered.

I walked towards the drivers seat, ignoring her. As I opened the door, she exclaimed again "I'm sorry. I just don't know what you see in her. I..."

"Save it." I replied bluntly, got into my car and drove off.

Nothing I hate more than cheaters and liars.
