Riley

"Riley. Wake up." I heard Marcus voice pierce in my ears like drums.

I moaned and buried myself in the blanket.

"Riley, get up." He lightly pushed my body this time.

I didn't respond. Using the pillow to cover my ears.

"Riley. It's noon already." He raised his voice at me. Firm, crystal clear.

I immediately got up, and argued back. "Damn, why are you shouting." I said while rubbing the side of my forehead. It felt like I was hit by a truck.

Marcus crossed his arms in front of him. "I wasn't shouting. You're having a hangover." He helped me get out of bed, leading me to the bathroom.

I immediately shook free from his grip. "Then why aren't you letting me sleep!" It was annoying that he woke me up. I stood there feeling very dizzy, it felt like I was sitting on a high speed carousel.

He let out a big sigh. "Riley Alison! You get changed and meet me at my car in 20mins." He lifted his car key from the table and stepped out.

When he left I stuck my tongue at him. Big meanie. Everything was a haze, I put a knee length dress that was hanging in the bathroom. Tied my hair into a messy bun, put on some mascara and left.

Once I stepped into the car, there was a big grin on Marcus's face. I rolled my eyes at him and rested my head on the dashboard. I wouldn't care if he was going to kidnap me or something. All I wanted to do was sleep.

All of a sudden everything around me felt warm and hot. I twist and turn but under the tight seatbelt I couldn't do much. I slowly opened my eyes, to find that we were in some sort of dark place. Marcus was siting at his driver's seat, looking at his phone.

I softly punched him on his arm, stretching my body. "Where are we?" I let out a yawn.

"Parking lot." He answered in a monotone.

I gigged out. "Where parking lot?" I stepped out of the car following behind Marcus.

He gave me a stern look, as he shoved his phone in his pocket. "Anderson Corps."

I almost fell down at his reply. Anderson corps... Why does that sound so familiar. I rubbed my eyes, and straighten out my hair.

We got into elevator and Marcus pressed 60th floor. The highest floor. I still wasn't sure where I was going, I just followed Marcus.

When we reach, a lady in a white blazer greeted us and lead Marcus into a room asking him to wait there. "Mr Anderson will be here shortly." She brewed a fresh pot of coffee for us, and left momentarily.

Marcus poured a cup of coffee and passed it to me. "Thank you." I whispered under my breath.

He took a quick glance at me. "Do you know where we are now?" Marcus tilted his head towards me.

"In a high rise building?" I replied while sipping on my coffee.

"No--" Before he could reply, the glass door swung open and I saw a very familiar face, but I just couldn't put my finger on who he was.

Marcus immediately got up and shook his hand. "Long time no see. Dad."

Dad?!

At the sound of dad, I accidentally spilled the coffee all over me. I quickly took a nearby napkin and wiped the table, and my clothes. My skin was burning under them, the coffee was piping hot.
