JOSEPHINE
After a week of rehearshals with Hero, I was feeling pretty confident about myself and kind of excited.
When I enterted the front door of the house on Friday I immediately started walking to the kitchen to get something to it. While I was walking there, though, something caught my eye in the living room.
"Are you serious? You are so lame!" I heard Mercy giggle at someone.
My eyes widened when I saw the person who was with her.
Max.
Max was sitting on the couch, his legs laying on top of it and Mercy was sitting betweet his legs, her back touching his front. Max was hugging Mercy from behind and they were both playing with each other's fingers.
"Are you the one talking, miss priss? You've lived all your life in this house. You don't what's like to be free and feel the adrenaline rushing to your veins" Max laughed placing a kiss on her cheek.
"You are always so poetic" Mercy teased him grabbing his chin.
"Max?" I asked, my voice weak from the shock.
At the sound of my voice they both jumped off the couch.
"Jo?" Mercy asked almost panicking.
"What are you doing here, Max? Is Bella with you?"
"Hi, um, Jo. No, she's not. She's uhh back home" he answered with a small smile.
"Did you come here to see me?" I asked, a small hopeful smile on my face.
Max glanced at Mercy for a moment, who had her head down, and then looked back at me.
"Uhm, yeah sure. Definitely. I came to see you"
I laughed a bit and then ran to hug him.
"I missed you Maxuel" I told him burring my head to his chest.
He bearly hugged me back. His arms were loose around me.
"You too" he said.
I pulled away and gave him a concerned look.
"Is everything okay? You seem... off?"
"Yeah, of course. I'm fine. What do you want to do today?" He asked and glanced at Mercy one more time.
"I don't know. I was planning on sleeping. I didn't know you were coming. We can go for a walk and catch up" I suggested.
"Oh no. I don't want to be in your way. I should just go" he said quickly and headed for the door.
"Wait. But you just got here! Max!" I ran after him.
"I'll see you another time, Jo" he stopped before he went out of the door and smiled at me.
"Are you sure you're okay?" I asked again.
Before he could answer the front door opened and Hero came in, his bagpack hanging from one of his shoulders.
"Hey?" he said confused seeing us all standing there.
"Bye!" Max said quickly and ran out of the open door.
"Max! Wait up!" I yelled and was about to ran after him but Hero grabbed my wrist and stopped me before I could.
"What's going on?" he asked.
Hero and I had become more close the past week because of the rehearshals, but I still got goosbombs whenever his skin touched mine.
And now my whole wrist was burning up.
