"I miss you" I heard her say.
Did I actually hear her say that?
I looked at her.
"Look Hero-" she sighed but I cut her off.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry about everything. I hope you know how fucking sorry I am" I took a step closer to her.
She pressed her lips together and I felt my heart stop waiting for her next word.
"I know" she finally said and I let out a breath.
"Can we just..." she stopped. "start again? Can we have a first start? From the beginning?" she pleaded. "I want to leave everything behind"
"Everything?" I asked gulping. "Even the good memories?"
"Yes" she confirmed. "I want to rebuild everything. Without mistakes this time"
"Okay" I found myself saying.
She took a deep breath. "I'm Jo" she held her hand out of me.
I raised my eyebrows amused. "I'm Hero, nice to meet you" I played along.
"You too" we shook hands.
"That's a nice dress you are wearing" I pointed at her black dress.
"Thank you, it's my favorite"
It's my favorite too, I wanted to add but I didn't.
Then we just stared ta each other not saying anything.
"This is weird" I let out a breath.
"Yeah"
"I've been closer to you than anyone. I can pretend like I don't know you, okay?" I took a step closer. "Because I know you, Jo. I fucking know you. I know how your laugh sounds when I make you laugh. I know how your eyes shine when you are excited about something. I know how your hands feel against my hair. I can't just forget all these and move on"
"We have to. I need to put our past behind, good or bad. We can explore everything again. As much as you piss me off you know I can't stay away from you" she admitted and my heard skipped a beat.
"I can't either"
"Okay, so go on a date with me" she demanded. "And yes I'll be the one asking you out this time. It will be our first day and it will be amazing. Please, Hero. I need this" she pleaded.
I thought about it for a second. "Okay, we'll start over. Let's go on a date"
She squealed and happiness and then hugged me.
It's been so long.
I hugged her back not wanting to let go. This start over thing could wait for a second. And by the looks of it she didn't want to pull away either. So we just stayed there hugging.
"I missed you so fucking much" I pushed her hair behind grabbing her face so I could look at her.
She nodded. "I know" her voice cracked.
"Jo, Hero!" I suddenly heard a voice from behind me.
"Shit! Max is here" I rolled my eyes.
I honestly forgot about him.
Jo gave me a questioning look. "I called him here so he could take you to the mall. I gave him money so you can buy whatever you want. But-"
Her eyes lit up. "No butts! Our date can wait! Shopping baby!"
I laughed at her and I reminded myself in how much love I was with her.
"See you later!" she jumped and next thing I knew she had grabbed my face and placed a kiss on my cheek.
