Karan's Lock Screen Wallpaper
Precap:
'My name is Karan. Singh. Oberoi', he said each word very clearly.
Wow. A lover with a lovely name. I wanna see where this goes.
Kaira's POV
He has a beautiful name. I like it though I won't admit it.
'So Mr. Oberoi---' I was continuing but he cuts me off.
'Kaira, please shed the formalities. Karan works for me.' he says
'Okay. So Karan, how do you know so much about me?' I ask.
'Now, that's a story for another time.' he replies.
'Hey! That's not fair. Everytime I bring up this question, everytime you say it's a story for another time.' I retort.
'So like a good girl, why don't you just believe me and keep it a story for another day? Common Kaira, atleast trust me a little.', he counterbacks.
I just nod. The server comes and serves us soup. I notice that it's my favourite Hot-n-Sour. I give him a look. He notices it and smirk.
'So, you don't want to know anything about me?' he asks and initiates the conversation.
'Hmm... So tell me about your friends.', I ask.
'Okay, so I have three best friends I can trust my life with. First is Rohan, whom I call Rohini. He is my assistant. Then is Abhimanyu, whom we call Abhi, but he is an art restorer and the last piece is Gaurav urf Gabbar. He is an economic adviser. We all were in the same class, even in 11th and 12th since we all were commerce students. After 12th, I went for BBA and MBA. Rohini went for CS, Abhi opted arts for art restoring and Gabbar also chose MBA but I was in HR and he went for Economics and Marketing', he explained.
I nodded firmly and had a spoonful of my soup.
'What about your friends?' he asked.
'Oh, my friends are disasters. They make you feel like you are in hell. There's ChiChi, short for Prachi, whose point of anger is higher than highest peak of Mt. Everest. No one messes with ChiChi. Then there's Rishi urf Rishika, who is sweet but advising. Basically the mom of the group. And there are two boys, Dev and Aakash. They are nice guys. Yeah, that's all.' I reply.
He nods and we complete our soup in silence. Then, just when we are completed with the soup, plates of small radius are served which is full with Alfredo Pasta Lasagna. Yum. He knows me very well. If Rishi would be here, she would...... Oh shit! Rishi! She might be worried as sick.
'Umm... Karan would you mind if I just ask you to allow me to make a phone call?' I ask.
'Who do you want to call?' he asks back protectively.
'Umm.... Rishi, actually. She might me worried as hell', I replied carefully, observing the tinge of anger in his eyes.
He nodded in slow motion and gave me his phone.
'No password?' I asked without looking at the phone.
He nodded his head from left to right indicating no password.
I pressed the lock button of the IPhone Xs max. And I couldn't believe my eyes. There was a photo. My photo. With my phone. How the hell was my photo with him? I looked up to see him smirk. I raised one of my eyebrows but his smirk just grew wider. I ignored his smirk and opened the keypad to dial Rishi's number. After few rings she picked it up.
'Hello?' I felt so relieved hearing her voice.
'Hello Rishi! Koko here' I said.
'Oh my God!! Girl, where the hell are you? Are you okay? Whose phone is this? Is something wrong? Where are you---' I cut her off by saying, 'Rishi! Chill, okay? I'm all right. This is... This is his phone. And everything is right, right now. Nothing's wrong.'
'His? Who is his?' she asks, completely confused.
'Long story short. I was kidnapped after I reached my home. I stayed at the place I was taken to after kidnapping for two days. Today is the third day. I got to know my kidnapper, not the boy who raided the girls' washroom, his boss loves me. In that sense.' I explained.
'What the...? Are you kidding me?' she asks, squeeling.
'Do I look like I'm kidding?' I answer her question with a question, clenching my teeth.
'Oh God, Kiddo! You've got a lover. Yesssss!!!! I finally have a jiju', she squeels.
(Jiju means husband of your best friend or elder sister)
'Really? I'm just on a date and look at you! Stop dreaming Rishi. I just wanted to inform you but I feel like it was a mistake' I scolded her. What? I hate being teased.
'Are you nuts? You are on a date and you have the guts to ask him for his phone and call me? You just broke the first rule of dating by calling me. You don't call your friend on your date, that too on your first date. I'm gonna hang up. Enjoy, Koko.' she scolds me back.
'Whatever. Bye.' I say and hang up.
I look to see he's staring at me with his trademark smirk.
'What?' I ask.
'God might not make the mistake to create another one like you. He just made me lucky' he says philosophically.
I roll my eyes and start eating. After sometime, he clears his throat which I took as an indication of beginning of a conversation.
'So, I noticed you were so adamant to know how I know you and so much about you' he begins.
I nod a yes in slow motion, still focused on the lasagna.
'It all started two years ago, at Oxford University, Delhi' he stated. My eyebrows fused together in confusion. Let's see where this goes.
