Precap:
I opened the door to get the biggest shock of my life. There he stood, in all his glory and black suit with a genuine fake smile.

Why, Karan, why?!

Kaira's POV:

The person I was running away from so long was right now standing in front of me.

"Kaira?" he asked with hope in his eyes.

"Yes. What are you doing here, Karan?" I asked rudely.

"Kaira, you..... you've changed" he said in shock.

"For good. Now, what are you doing here, Karan?" I asked with crossing my arms on my chest.

"I was here because my wife wanted have dinner with her clients. She invited me and told me to come here because a girl of her age was going to take me to the restaurant. Turns out that girl is you" he said with a soft smile.

"Kritika's your wife?!" I exclaimed in shock.

"Yeah, after you left, I married her out of an arrangement" he said after a sigh.

"I'm never going back. The past is in the past. Let it go" I said and came out. I locked the door and went to the elevator. He followed me.

"So, what are you doing here?" he asked once we were in my car. He parked his car in the building parking and we were in my car right now.

"Assistant Manager to the Winter Soldiers and their Manager" I replied nonchalantly.

"Hmm, I see you are quite successful and independent" he said, trying to make a conversation.

I didn't speak anything till we reached the restaurant, which was a 5 minute drive. When we reached, I broke the silence.

"Look Karan, don't try to be nice and innocent with me. You showed me your true colours and I don't want you in my life again. You have a wife so don't show as if you're interested in me or my life. Just.... just stay away" I warned. Lies. Utter lies. I was still dying inside for saying this. He was looking at me in shock.

"Kaira, I--" he was saying something but I cut him off by exiting the car.

But before I could enter the restaurant, a hand pulled me by my wrist and the result was me colliding with a hard chest.

"Very well then, Kaira Singhania. I was just trying to be friendly and being calm but you are ticking me off. After our breakup, I used to follow you but you ignored me as plague and didn't even acknowledge the fact that I was trying to mend things between us. After a few weeks, I finally had the courage to talk to you, by hook or by crook, but turns out Madam disappeared into thin air. It wasn't me Kaira who left the love of their life without even bidding a simple goodbye. It wasn't me who was ignoring their love as if they are meant to be alone. So you don't have any fucking right to be mad at me or insult me like that" Karan hissed with gritty teeth.

How dare he?! I left, but not because of cowardice, but because of him! He knows how to get on my nerves.

"You can blabber all the shit you want to Karan, but it doesn't change the reality that you were the one who broke everything apart. So better be away from me, else you will face the consequences" I warned in an equally angry tone.

"Oh, consequences?" he scoffed and continued "Are you challenging me, babe?"

"Take it in whatever form you want it to be" I said and rolled my eyes and turned to walk away but he pulled me again with more force.

"Then remember one thing, Karan Singh Oberoi never loses" he said with a victorious smirk.

"You already lost me. Isn't that enough indication that you are a sore loser?" I said and snatched my hand and this time, I successfully walked away.

"I will destroy everything for you Kaira and that's my challenge, love!" he yelled but I turned a deaf ear to it.

I entered and saw my group was seated in a dim lighted booth at the back of restaurant.

I walked over to them and saw two seats empty, one beside Kritika and one beside Kabir.

I took the seat next to Kabir.

"Sorry, the traffic is lit" I said as I seated myself.

"Oh, believe me, I know about it very well" Kabir chuckled from next to me.

I was about to comment on that when the head jerk took a place beside his wife. Cue the eye roll.

"Hey K. Thanks for coming" Kritika said.

"No biggie. I can do this much for my lovely wife, can't I?" he said but was looking at me with a smirk.

I scoffed. As if I don't know he's trying to make me jealous. But don't fret yourself Karan, Kritika told me your equation and relationship with her.

I smirked at my own thoughts and this made his smirk falter and a frown was created between his brows.

"Good evening. I am Richards, your server today. Have you decided what you want to drink or you want me to wait for sometime?" Richards asked. Yes, the same Brit from last morning.

When he was done speaking his memorised speech he looked up and a glint of recognition passed his eyes.

"Kokes?" he asked with a boyish grin.

"Yes, Brit, it's me" I replied with a smile.

"Great. You guys know each other?" Tom asked.

"He is the one who prepares your morning coffee" I deadpanned.

"Oh yes, I remember him now. You are the green eyed handsome Britisher who Kokes was praising one day" Jerry teased me.

"Hey, I didn't say handsome" I protested.

"Yes you did" all the five guys lied in unison.

I scowled. But there was someone else who had a scowl similar to mine. Bingo! The head jerk.

"Guys, stop teasing our dear sweetheart!" Kabir playfully scolded them and ruffled my hair. I just huffed.

I glanced towards Karan to see his face red from anger...... and jealousy? No way he's jealous. He doesn't even care for me like before.

I just ignored him for the rest of the evening and had a nice dinner.

When we were exiting the restaurant, Karan pulled me to him when no one was seeing.

"Don't forget my promise, Kaira. I fully intend to fulfill it" he said in a menacingly low voice, winked at me and then did something unexpected.

He gave me a quick peck on my lips.

My eyes widen in surprise and I was about to retaliate but by then he turned on his heels and left.

What the actual fuck?!
