Chapter ten

Louisa's POV
A tennis ball hits the wall after I threw it softly. I watch as it bounces back to fly into my arms again. I think about what my friends would do if they were here. Would they have gone back to make sure it never happened? Wait, that's it! If we make sure Zari never leaves the ship, she isn't affected by the time changes! Nevermind, she was the most important person for bringing Nate back, so she has to be there.

I could just pick her up from wherever she is, but she doesn't even know what happened herself. Only Nate and I know. I could kill her brother so she takes the amulet back... But I'm not a killer. Maybe I could make sure that Behrad was never born... Nah... That's just the worst thing to do. I think I should talk to Nate, maybe he has an idea. Someone knocks on my door before I could stand up from my bed.

"Come in," I say. "Hey, have you seen John? He hasn't been around here since we defeated Pogo..." Ray asks. "Uhm, no, I haven't seen him. Have you seen Nate though?" I ask him back. "He's in his room. Is there something wrong?" Ray asks me. "It's kinda... Nate's problem that Nate and I have to solve." I say. "Wait, did we do something to the timeline?" Ray asks, his eyes widen. "Something like that," I say.

They created Heyworld, which didn't have any effect on the people. But it did help to bring Neron there. Maybe I just have to find a bait that lures Neron into coming, or make sure Nate doesn't die. But if Nate doesn't die, then Neron never gets taken back to hell. Maybe I am strong enough to banish him myself. I got it! I should banish Neron myself so Nate doesn't die! I need to talk to him.

"What happened?" Ray asks me. I jump a bit because I didn't realise that he was still in my room. "I uh... Think I found a solution!" I say back to him. Ray nods as I storm out of the room, looking for Nate's. I knock on his door and not a second after, I hear the usual 'come in!'. I open the door and I walk in. "Hey, Nate, about Zari, I know how to-" I say swiftly before getting cut off by Nate looking at me in a confused way and gesturing me to stop. "Who's Zari?" He asks.

"Wait, you don't remember her anymore?" I ask Nate, who still looks confused. It was when we defeated Pogo, that's when the changes hit him. This doesn't make sense, why him later than the rest? Maybe because he had more memories with her. "Uh, nevermind," I say softly and walk out of the room, only to see that Ray has been standing there the whole time.

I have to do this myself. I have to defeat Neron, but I need to know how first. I walk to the library and grab every book that says something about demons, about Neron. "Gideon, tell me everything about Neron and how to defeat him," I say. "Neron was a powerful demon who possessed many bodies to get what he wanted. He was defeated by using his own agreement against him." Gideon responds.

"How can I defeat him then?" I ask Gideon back. "Neron is too powerful to be defeated by dark magic, he can only be defeated by the strongest light magic." Gideon's answers me. That's exactly what I have. I just need to know how to use my powers against that demon before he kills Nate again. "Gideon, is the jump ship ready to take away?" I ask. "Yes, miss Constantine, but I would advise against changing the timeline." She says."For Nate," I say softly as I walk to the jump ship.

John's POV
"Zed, there you are," I say as I arrive in the old millhouse. (Constantine fandom ya know) I let her stay there after we split to go our own ways. "Hey, John," Zed says, staring into the mirror and looking at our conversation about the mirror. Zed's smile fades a bit after a few seconds. "What happened?" She asks with a worried and annoyed face.

"It's... Our daughter." I say slowly, Zed's eyes widen.

Louisa's POV
I can clearly see why Heyworld changed the future. It's massive! The ship lands just outside of it, invisible of course. Let's hunt this demon. I walk into the entrance, it's free. I love this park already! I see a sign that says 'superheroes versus monsters' and I see people running out and screaming. I'm too late already. There's a dragon flying out of a huge circus tent.

I quickly run inside to see John and Nate switching appearance in a corner. I've got to stop them. I see Ray, at least, his body. That most be Neron. Nate told me about how Neron took over Ray, that must've been traumatic. "Hey you demon!" I yell loudly. Neron looks over to me. Nate (John) walks over to me. "What are you doing, kid?" He asks as he grabs me by the shoulder. "Not now, John," I reply and pull my arm back as I walk towards Neron.

As I walk towards him, I see the staff laying on the ground in the corner of my eye. That thing must be the staff that brought Nate back. I run towards it while still looking at Neron. John (Nate) is already near Neron. "Nate, get the hell away from him!!!" I yell on the top of my lungs while lunging towards Neron. He looks at me and laughs. "You think you could fool me with that appearance switching act? That girl just ruined it!" Neron says.

I focus all my energy on the staff and it begins to glow white. So bright even, that I can't see anything else. I hear Neron screaming in the distance. I think it's working. I start to feel all energy being drained from me and I eventually feel weaker. The strong light dims more and more as I start to fall on my knees. Jesus Christ, that took a lot out of me! The staff falls out of my hands and someone else picks it up. I look up to vaguely see the figure that picked up the staff. It's Neron.

"You thought you could banish me? You're just a kid. Those powers of yours, it did actually hurt, but your powers are far too weak for the ruler of hell." He says. Neron points the staff at me and purple light starts to grow brighter by the second. "NO!" John yells. I don't even know anymore if it's John or Nate, I just don't want to die. I look up again to see Neron falling to the ground. I quickly stand up in fear, what just happened?

I look at Nora to see the soul token in her hand disappearing. What happened to him? I see Ray standing up again and everyone jumps back. "It's okay, it's me, I'm me." He says. I know it's him. "Who's that?" He asks while pointing at me. I don't see Zari anywhere because Nate didn't die. That's a good sign. I look behind me to see confused faces. John doesn't look that confused though. "Louisa...?" He asks while slowly approaching me.

"I can explain..." I tell him. "No, darling, you don't have to." He says back. Wait, if he knows it's me then he won't pick me up from my home and I'll never be here. I run back to the jump ship and get a memory gun from the storage space. I run back to quickly flash all of them, hoping nothing would change. Everyone looks around in confusion. Good. I run back to the jump ship as fast as I can. I'm not fading away, so I think everything worked.

I step in and sit in the front seat. "Gideon, can you take me back to the waverider?" I ask. No reaction. "Gideon?" I ask again. "I'm afraid Gideon is on a little breakdown." I hear a male voice from behind me. I quickly turn around. Wait, that's Belial, the demon that Manny told me about. The woman next to him must be Astra. I swiftly move towards the door but it doesn't open. I'm stuck. I focus on a message to the waverider, hoping I can contact them from my mind to a computer.

"What do you want?!" I ask. Belial starts laughing. "How did you even get here?" I ask, even more worried. "How do they say this... In your moment of weakness, we'll be strong." Astra says. Damn it, I should've never tried to face Neron on my own. Belial walks towards me and Astra follows. "Don't. Come. Closer. You clowns!!!" I yell. "You don't know what I can do!!!" I continue.

They keep walking towards me, Belial now laughing again. "You will regret this you bastards!" I add. Belial snaps his fingers and a little black plumb of smoke flies out. I feel myself being at the point where I'm about to faint. "My father will come for you..." I say softly, not a second before my vision goes black.

Oof this chapter was hard for me to write. I mean, how dafuq will you get Zari back normally?! If you never let Zari leave the ship, then she wasn't singing and Nate was still dead, so I was pitching for 3 days straight omg! I even asked my friends and they gave the same answer! I wanted to do something with Zed too (requested) because I really loved the idea! I was pitching about the fact that they had a child too... Idk if it sucks please tell me XD, oh also I got a puppy today so I wanted to finish this chapter as a celebration!
