"Where are we going?" Miyuki asked, holding onto the masked figure's cloak tightly.

"I intend on having you join us in the future after you are promoted. I want you to meet them."

Miyuki exhaled. "Alright. Why've I got contacts in?"

"I don't want them to know your identity. I've shortened your name."

Miyuki's now purple eyes blinked.

And they disappeared in a swirl.

"Madara, who is this?" Pein inquired, staring at the silent ravenette in question. She looked back at him, not a trace of emotion in her eyes.

"This is Yuu. I intend on making her a member in the near future."

"What rank is she?"

"As of the moment, she is B-Ranked. She only just graduated from the academy. She is training with Hatake Kakashi of the Sharingan so she should be up to standard by July."

"That is around the time the chunin exams start, no? Who is on her team? Anyone of importance?"

"Itachi's younger brother and the Kyuubi jinchuuriki," Obito replied.

Miyuki tensed, biting her tongue to stop herself from talking. She made a face as blood filled her mouth.

"Yuu?" Obito questioned lowly, staring at the girl.

"I uh- It's nothing-" she amended frantically, wiping the blood that seeped out as she spoke.

Pein rose an eyebrow as she lifted her hand up to her mouth and it flowed a faint green.

"We have yet to get an active healer in our ranks," he commented. "What is she capable of in the medical field?"

Obito looked at Miyuki and prompted her to answer.

"I'm about as skilled as an average nurse in a hospital, but I'm training every night to up my skill. I can always perform emergency surgeries, though. I'm just trying to get a licence to do so and get more practical experience," she replied blankly.

Pein hummed. "Good. You are certain she will join?"

"Certain."

"Come along, child. We will bring you to meet the rest."

Miyuki nodded and glanced at Obito who made no move to join them. She bowed to him quickly and left with Pein, red tinting her cheeks.

What happened to her dork? She thought.

Unknown to her, Obito snickered quietly after she left.

::

Miyuki was surrounded by random men, her face blank. Deidara was poking her cheek as if he didn't know what a child was, if it was a food or not, or if it was poisonous.

"Did Leader-sama kidnap you, un?" He asked, confused.

Pein strode into the kitchen. "Meeting. Now."

They straightened up and moved towards the living room, Miyuki following, gripping her goggles tightly from her neck.

Pein directed her to a seat next to him where Konan was flanking him, her cautiously sitting down, careful not to slouch and make a bad first impression. She did think first impressions counted after all; it just didn't apply to Kakashi.

"This," he gestured to Miyuki. "Is a future member of ours. She is to be our medic. Introduce yourself."

She looked straight ahead. "My name is Yuu. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Children are expensive," Kakuzu grumbled.

"What else can she do but heal?" Kisame questioned, crossing his arms. "Can't Sasori also do stuff like that?"

There was a pause.

"...I can cook."

"I vote she stays," Hidan replied immediately. "I like her. Keep her."

There were murmurs of agreement from practically everyone excluding Itachi, who was simply staring at the ravenette. Assessing her.

"When will she be joining?" Itachi asked lowly.

"After the chunin exams in July," Pein replied. "She will be up to standard by then. She has only just graduated."

"And you think she's skilled enough?" Kisame asked, whistling.

"Yes."

"Don't you normally just make them join? How come she's meeting us beforehand, yeah?" Deidara inquired.

"That is none of your concern," Pein answered smoothly. In reality, it was because Madara had told him to. Not that he was going to tell them that.

"Yuu, you may leave now." Pein wasn't that stupid. It was early morning after all, and she was bound to do a couple missions in the daytime.

"Yes, Pein-sama," she replied airily, standing up and bowing before walking to the back room for Obito to take her home.

"Where the hell were you?!" Sasuke all but shrieked. I couldn't find your chakra anywhere! I checked all of Konoha for you! Where the hell did you go at 4 in the morning?!"

Miyuki backed off, watching the fuming Uchiha wearily. "Sasuke, calm down," she soothed, halfheartedly grinning. "I wasn't hurt, I was just doing something."

"What were you doing at 4am?!" He yelled.

Miyuki thought fast. "That's a secret between me and the Hokage. Sorry, Sasu, I didn't think it'd affect you that much," she lied easily, deeming it safe and taking a few more steps towards him.

Sasuke simply latched onto her and buried his face in her chest, much to her annoyance. It dissipated when she realised that tears were soaking through her shirt. Gently, she rubbed the boy's back while the other hand stroked through his hair in an attempt to comfort him.

"I...I thought I lost you.." he murmured brokenly, making Miyuki's heart ache painfully.

The girl hushed him softly and simply returned his hug.

She never realised just how much she meant to him.
