On the night of the Uchiha massacre, Itachi was, of course, accompanied by who he believed was Uchiha Madara.

"Miyuki," Obito muttered lowly. "Take Shisui and go back home."
Miyuki ran over to him and overloaded his cuffs with her chakra, breaking them.
"Can you body flicker us home?" She whispered. Shisui was staring at Obito in confusion, and slight terror.
He nodded and grabbed her arm.
"Shisui-niichan," Miyuki said quietly, head down. "You can go outside now. You don't have to stay here."
Shisui stared at her.
"What?"
"...Danzo is afraid of the man in the mask. He'll tell Danzo to let you go. I'm sorry for keeping you cooped up all this time."
Shisui looked down at her in surprise. He then knelt down and pulled her into a hug. "It's okay, Miyuki-chan. I understand. Thank you."
She smiled. "Go to the Hokage first. Tell him to get Sasuke. I-I'm going out."
He slowly nodded and let go of her, standing back up.
She felt guilty.
No matter what.

She packed her bag when Shisui was gone.
She broke a few vases, broke her window, and cut her palm to splatter blood across the floor.
Miyuki quickly wrote a note.
She'd give it to him in a month. After the finals.
.. She was leaving early.

Miyuki smiled down at the mask in her hands. It was white with a splash of purple on the left, and two slits for the eyes covered with black paint around it. Two small black upturned triangles rested under the eye holes.
Gently, she placed it on her face.
Yuu, she thought. That's a nice codename.
She took out a kunai and took her headband off, slashing it.
Cutting her ties to the village.
Uchiha Miyuki no longer existed.
Miyuki had abandoned her last name.
Miyuki had abandoned Konoha.

A month later, Miyuki broke into someone's home. She gently placed the note on the kitchen table before leaving.

To whoever is reading this,
By the time you read this note, I will be dead.
Tell my team I'm sorry.
I'm sorry for leaving them behind.
I'm sorry for not cheering you on.
I'm sorry for not spending more time with you.
I'm sorry, Shisui.
I'm sorry, Sasuke.
I'm sorry, Naruto.
..
I'm sorry, Kakashi..
My body will not be found.
I'm sorry for leaving you alone.
