«Imouto»
Miyuki stared at the two boys—who were shoving as much food as they could in their mouths before throwing up—in disgust.
She hit both of them on the backs of their heads. "Manners," she ordered.
They looked at her sheepishly.
"Kami, it can't have been that hard," Miyuki told them, rolling her eyes. "Maybe for Naruto, but not enough to be acting like starved wolves."
"Hey!" Naruto protested.
"Not because you're the dead last, dolt," Miyuki told him. "Because of your huge chakra reserves. It took ages for me to get it with mine, and my reserves are smaller than both of yours."
Sasuke rose an eyebrow. "Did you have training on this before?"
"Officially?" She snorted. "Definitely not. I mean, you were in the main house. I read up on it and trained myself but it was really easy considering I could've completely butchered my chakra coils."
Kakashi looked back to her. "How old were you? You must have been pretty young to have the possibility to damage your coils."
Miyuki hummed. "Maybe three or four?"
The disbelieving looks she got made her shift uncomfortably.

Inari stood up, his eyes shadowed, and Miyuki knew he was about to give them some sort of bullshit speech.
"You're all going to die!" he shouted. "Gato has a whole army! All of you are going to die! Yet here you are, laughing and smiling like there's nothing wrong! You don't know what it's like to be lonely, to lose someone! To be treated like dirt!"
All of them froze.
Slowly, calmly, Miyuki stood up and crouched in front of the boy.
She lifted a finger and harshly poked his chest. "You know nothing about us, little boy. You know nothing of loss. You know nothing about being treated like dirt. You have your grandfather, and your mother. We don't have anyone. We're all orphans. We don't have any family left to rely on. Funny, isn't it? Me and Sasuke used to have a whole clan! But they were slaughtered in front of our eyes like animals!" She started laughing. "Naruto can't walk through the streets without being treated like something you've scraped off the bottom of your shoe. He's never had anyone, no friends, no family. No one. And get this," she said lightly. "We are the ones protecting your grandfather. We are the ones putting our lives on the line. We are the ones wasting our time protecting little brats like you only to get shit like this as payback! Without us, your grandfather would be roadkill. Without us, your grandfather wouldn't be here right now. You know nothing. Nothing," she growled, poking him so harshly that he stumbled backwards. His lip quivered, frowning as his eyes screwed up. "So stop acting like you do. Come back when you've watched your whole family get slaughtered by someone you looked up to and trusted. I'll wait."
He ran off.
Miyuki shunshinned onto the roof, away from the surprised looks of the remaining people in the room.

"Miyuki?" Sasuke murmured, sitting down beside her.
"Hey," she said softly.
He sighed, laying down and staring up at the stars the same way Miyuki was doing. "You okay?"
"Mhm," she replied quietly. "I'm okay. I'm sorry."
Sasuke looked at her from the corner of his eye, his face softening. "It's alright. You didn't do anything wrong."
"I mentioned the massacre," she whispered. "I was angry. I couldn't control myself."
"It's fine," Sasuke told her, frowning. "You were there too. I don't mind if you get angry. I was angry too."
They laid in silence for a few minutes.
"I don't wanna leave you," Miyuki mumbled.
Sasuke wrapped an arm around her, pulling her into a hug. "I'll always be there for you," he whispered gently. "No matter what."
"No matter what," Miyuki repeated softly.
After a minute of silence, Sasuke realised she had fallen asleep. Gently, he picked her up and shunshinned to their temporary bedroom.
"Sasuke, that you?" Naruto mumbled sleepily.
"Yeah," he whispered back, laying Miyuki on the futon.
He unrolled his own futon as quietly as he could, laying on it and switching off the small lamp between him and Naruto's futon.
He rolled over onto his side, pulling Miyuki's blanket over her.
"'Night, Imouto."
And in the guest room, three genin fell asleep, finally at peace.
