«Zabuza»

Miyuki waved off the chilling feeling that was creeping up her spine, for now. She needed to focus on the mission at hand, and keep an eye on Tazuna, the bridge builder. There was something about him that she absolutely hated, so she was on guard the whole way there. Miyuki discreetly inched away every so often and ended up furthest away, walking alongside Sasuke as a result.

Her instincts flared as she stepped in a puddle, making her automatically shoot chakra into it. She quickly jumped away, sensing the two chunin-level chakra signatures inside it.

"What the-" Naruto yelped as Miyuki shoved him aside, narrowly avoiding a kunai that soared past him.

Two figures stood before them, and Miyuki watched in slight horror as Kakashi was ripped to pieces. It was strange, someone as strong as Hatake Kakashi was defeated by mere chunin from Kiri.

Pathetic.

She easily jumped up, as a wave of weapons was launched at her, grinning wildly as adrenaline pumped through her veins. Landing on the ground, Miyuki leapt at one, kunai in hand, and cut an artery in their arm.

"You bitch—" he shrieked, drawing back his other arm, ready to punch. She swiftly ducked and grabbed one of his legs, kicking the knee brutally with the other, making him fall on his face. She dug her knee into his back and he squirmed uncomfortably as she put a kunai to his neck.

"Move and I'll kill you," Miyuki hissed, pressing harder against his neck. He stiffened and let out a quiet whimper.

"Maa, Miyuki, I'll take it from here," Kakashi intoned, appearing behind her. She stood, not taking her eyes off the target before stamping on his foot and hearing a sickening crunch.

Naruto visibly winced.

Miyuki sneered. "You're a sad excuse of a chunin. Bested by a fresh genin? Pathetic."

"Miyuki," Kakashi said in a warning voice. She scoffed at him and stuffed her hands in her pockets, walking towards Naruto.

She held out her hand.

"What?" Naruto asked loudly, his face contorted in confusion. She sighed.

"Give me your hand."

He looked at her weirdly but complied. Miyuki took his hand and examined the scratch on him, recognising the poison that had entered his system. It was moving slowly, therefore it would be easy to remove. It was clearly cheap.

"Hold still, or you'll die," She said bluntly, ignoring the way Naruto started screaming.

Miyuki carefully extracted the poison from his system using her chakra, slipping a part of it into a small vial for later and discarding the rest.

She watched curiously as the incision she made healed up by itself.

The Kyuubi, huh? Interesting.

Kakashi was staring at Naruto's hand with a grim look on his face, which made her roll her eyes. She quickly wrapped his hand in bandages, stepping back.

"You're welcome. There was poison in your blood. It was low-level and cheap, so it was moving slowly, but you would've gotten sick all the same."

"Wait- so I won't die?!"

"Dobe. Weren't you listening? She said low-level. And she extracted the poison anyways," Sasuke scoffed. Miyuki was beginning to see a pattern here, and she sweatdropped.

"Moving on..." Miyuki drawled. "Tazuna, would you like to repeat what you said when you met us?"

He started sweating. "H-Huh? What're you talking about?"

She snorted in a very unladylike way. "'I expect you to protect me with your lives~!'"Miyuki mocked. "You gave yourself away then and there. This isn't a C-Rank mission. Why'd you hire weak little genin when you're being targeted by chunin? Hm?"

Kakashi clamped his hand down on Miyuki's shoulder and she immediately tensed, her eyes wide and trailing backwards.

"Don't touch me," she hissed furiously. "Don't touch me, Hatake."

His eye widened slightly, eyebrows raised, and backed off, his arms up in surrender.

"Now, Tazuna," Miyuki smiled sweetly. "Mind telling us what's going on?"

"The mist is getting thicker," Naruto whined.

"We're closer to Kiri. What did you expect?" Sasuke asked, raising an eyebrow.

"It's also laced with chakra, how fascinating," Miyuki drawled out.

Sasuke sent her a wary look as Naruto began throwing kunai everywhere.

"Damn! I hit a bunny!" Naruto cried out, cradling a white bunny in his arms. "I really did sense someone, believe it!"

"It's hard to sense exactly where they are because their chakra is all throughout the mist," she sang.

"DUCK!" Kakashi practically screamed, tackling Tazuna down. Miyuki carelessly jumped, because fuck you Hatake, she does what she wants.

She ended up standing on top of Kubikiribōchō, the executioner blade.

Miyuki let out a low whistle. "That is one fine ass blade."

Zabuza chuckled darkly, beginning to release huge amounts of killer intent. Naruto froze, and Sasuke began trembling, flipping his kunai around to point at himself.

Miyuki giggled.

Zabuza turned towards her slowly. "You can resist my KI? Interesting."

"My dad has more suffocating KI than you," she told him flippantly. "And he's dead."

Somehow, Zabuza couldn't resist snorting at that.

"I like you, girl. But you're standing on my blade. And we're on separate sides, so I'll have to kill you instead," Zabuza announced before pulling his sword out of the tree and swinging it at her, which she promptly dodged by ducking.

"It's okay, I'm not into old men."

Sasuke's eye twitched and his lips quirked up, snapping him out of whatever little trance he had been in. Miyuki exhaled slightly. That's what she had been aiming to do.

"Momochi Zabuza," Kakashi growled.

"You must be Kakashi of the Sharingan. It's an honour," Zabuza greeted.

Miyuki rolled her eyes. "Friend-killer Kakashi, more like," she mumbled under her breath, before cursing herself. She forgot that the Hatake clan had enhanced senses, so chances were he heard her.

She was ashamed to admit that her heart broke slightly at the crestfallen look on his face as he stared at her. Hurt flashed through his eyes.

She quickly looked away, ignoring the painful pang in her chest as she did so.

Miyuki likes seeing Kakashi upset, but he is starting to grow on her.
