Chapter 33: All of your darkest fears are going to come for you

Kara's POV

(3 Days Later)

I've been staying the night in the hospital, but the rest of them would go back to the hotel room for the night and come back the next day.

After a while, it was around 2am. The whole time I've been keeping my eyes on Michael, waiting for him to make some sort of movement at all. I would get so scared that I would sometimes check to see if he was breathing. I felt a dip in the couch beside me and I felt a hand come to my back and I immediately flinched as I was snapped out of my thoughts. I turned and met the eyes of a very tired Ashton.

"Kara..." He sighed. "You should come back to the hotel with us. The hospital will call us and tell us that Michael is awake." He tells me. 

"You guys can go back, I think I'll stay here for a while." I reply. Ashton sighed, I knew he was to tired to argue with me.

"Okay... just make sure you get some sleep too... please?" He looked in my eyes. I nodded in reply. He stood up off the couch and I saw him glance at Michael. I could almost see that he was thinking of something but I couldn't tell what it was... it seemed more serious than sleep. I slowly got up off the couch and hugged everyone as they left. They all told me to take care of myself because they know I would stay awake and not eat anything until Michael woke up. 

I grabbed one of the chairs and sat by the side of Michael's bed. I looked at Michael's face and tried not to break down into tears. I felt my tears make my eyesight blurry so I blinked a few times to clear my vision. I brought my hand to Michael's face and rubbed his cheek gently with my thumb.

"I love you Mikey." I whispered. I gently ran my fingers through his hair, I stood up and kissed his cheek. I went back over to the couch and sat down. I brought the puppy out of his crate and let him sleep in my arms on the couch. For a while I kept tossing and turning, unable to sleep because of the condition Michael was currently in. I took my phone out of my pocket and played my 5sos playlist on my phone. The first song was Long Way Home, I placed my phone down on the window sill above the couch. I slowly fell asleep with the puppy in my arms as I heard Michael sing his part...

Michael's POV

After everything went dark after the concert, I'm not completely sure what happened. But I saw myself on this boat on a foggy lake and it had a rope on it tied to a dock in the distance. On the dock I saw 3 figures standing there, I could tell that it was Ashton, Calum, and Luke. I then realized what I was seeing. I was dying and they were deciding on whether to let me die or not. My best friends wouldn't do that to me... would they? 

While I was on the boat, I felt colder every minute. I started to think that where I was at was real but I couldn't really move my body. I heard a voice that came from my right and the voice sounded really familiar.

"I love you Mikey." The voice said. I realized that it was Kara. Was she there with the guys? I immediately started getting flashbacks of her face, her smile, her eyes, our first kiss, and well... just her. I knew I had to fight through this so I could get to her and the guys, I knew I was barely hanging on to life. But I had to... for them.

I slowly woke up hearing a beeping noise of a machine and also heard our song Everything I Didn't Say playing in the background. I got confused on where I was so I slowly opened my eyes. I looked up at the unfamiliar roof and realized that I must be in the hospital. I turned my head and saw Kara asleep on the couch with something beside her, on the other side of her so I couldn't really make out what it was with how dark it was in here.

"Kara?" I spoke, my voice was really rough. I saw Kara jerk awake and looked over at me. She jumped off the couch and rushed over to me.

"Mikey!" She says happily and hugs me. We released. "Oh, Mikey I got you someth-" she was going on but I immediately pulled her back down and crashed my lips on hers. I felt her tears run down her face and onto mine. We released and I looked up at her hazel eyes.

"I love you too Kara." I whisper and she smiled.
