i groaned in annoyance at my phone vibrating under my pillow, i pulled it out and without looking at the caller ID i answered it, mumbling a groggy hello into it
"Jesus Christ Mel, you sound like you just woke up" my best friend's voice commented
"that's cause i just did" i said smooshing my face into my pillow
"well get your lazy ass up, we're going to the mall" She yells
i left my head up and look at the digital clock on my side table, the green numbers flashed 8:46am.
"Dixie, it's not even 9am" i groaned sitting on my elbows
"exactly, i'm giving you an hour to get ready, because when we fetch you, it's gonna be close to 10" she said
"we?" i questioned
"yes, myself, charli and the rest of the hype house" she said
"what?!" i panicked
"please ungrince yourself"
"wait Dix-
"bye!" she yelled hanging up
I sat on my bed, eyes wide. I'd never properly met the members of the hype house but i'd often seen them on my Tiktok as well as Dixie and Charli's snaps. I'd spoken to Chase during one of Charli and I's facetimes and Anthony and Avani. So this meeting them, was kind of a big deal.
I jumped out of bed and freshened up, doing my skin routine to the tee and picking out my favourite song. I shaved, made sure my curls were on point and picked out some blue ripped jeans and a yellow tee shirt. I had my hair done in 2 space buns and had my yellow scrunchies and vans on before skipping downstairs to have breakfast
"well someone's looking good and in a great mood" My mom smiled
"oh well what gave it away?" i smiled back
"the fact that you were blasting Yellow Hearts all the way, you don't look like the grinch, your shirt doesn't have your last 5 dinners on it and you're actually smiling" your brother commented "or are you constipated?"
"oh shut up Christopher, you always look great honey" your mom said handing you some waffles
"even when you dress like a hobo" Chris added with a sarcastic smile
you rolled your eyes, nudging his hand off your shoulder before returning your gaze to your mom
"uhh, Dixie's coming over to take me to the mall, is that okay?" you asked
"what? when did she get back?" your mom asked
"couple of days ago, she's been busy with a photoshoot with Charli and interviews" you shrugged
"Didn't expect her to blow up to quickly y'know" Chris added
"yeah, just last night i was changing her diapers and looking after her" your mom reminisced
before you could comment a honk was heard from outside making you jump out of your seat, you ran upstairs and grabbed your small backpack, filled wig your essentials and made your way to your mom, giving her w quick gooodbye and grabbing some cash before dashing out the door
