Nava's PoV

I'm waiting for Nightbreeze outside the jail. She's trying to get them to take us to the Highlord camp. When she comes back out I ask her “How did it go?”

“I hope you're ready to leave tonight. It's a long trip.”

“I've been ready. Just don't get yourself killed.”

“I'm not planning on getting myself killed. But I know we need to take out the army. If not the whole army at least the leader Elaethen.”

“Trust me when I say I'm not leaving without killing as many of them as possible. I can take care of myself. What about you? You're the one that will be even closer to their leader then I am.”

“I can take care of myself. They haven't killed me yet.”

“Are you sure about that? We don't need you getting captured again.”

“Your the one getting captured.”

“How hard is there torturing?”

“You saw what happened to me. I'm just lucky their leader was so gullible and angry. I stood up and embarrassed him in front of his army.”

“Why haven't you stood up against anyone else before?”

“I did with Learoth.”

“Other than that.”

“I guess it's because you brought out that side of me. I kept my rebellious side buried to help me stay alive.”

“Now you really make it seem like I am your mom.”

“Well you are like my mom. You keep worrying about me. I will try not to get myself hurt this time.”

“What did you learn from them?”

“The army is on there way to a town far away from here. They want to take over Mabletown.”

“That town is the biggest town you could take over. It's a supply town. People from all over the world go there to trade. It doesn't have anyone there to protect them. They have basic guard units that helps keep the place under control. But that's not enough to fight an army.”

“That's why we have to take care of the army. I just wish we could have our own army instead of just the two of us.”

“We start small then we can get more people to join us. Don't worry about how we will get in or leave. I'm a fighter and I always have been. It's not easy to take me down when I fight with two swords.”

“I need to teach you how to be Kagonesti sometime. Other than climbing trees and being quiet.”

“Don't tell me I would have to start wearing paint like you do.”

“No you wouldn't.”

“Then I look forward to you teaching me anything I don't already know.”

A couple hours later we get one of the men out of jail and we leave. We have the basics that we need to travel. Nightbreeze pretends the man is leading us to the murder of the Dwarf instead of the army. We do kill a lot of Ogres on the way there. It's almost lunchtime when we get close to the army. I act clueless and the guy keeps smiling. He believes our lie so that's good. When we get close to the army and you can hear them I ask “Where are we?”

Nightbreeze says “It's part of the army for God City. Don't worry about it.”

When we are close enough to see them I pull out my swords. The army comes and they surround me. They also surround Nightbreeze and the man. I start fighting them the best I can. I am turning around and surprising them. When they get too close I do a circle with both my swords and strike killing blows. I even take off the heads of a good number of Ogres. I keep fighting until they knock the swords out of my hands and grab me. There leader walks over to us. Some of his men are holding onto Nightbreeze and she isn't fighting. He says “I didn't think you would come back. You're a traitor and I believed you.”

She says “I had to make it look like I was a traitor. I killed them all except for her. I left her for you. She has so much valuable information for you. I would never leave you. You know that. I missed you so much. I hated being away from you and being stuck with them. I killed the others slowly and very painfully. I made her watch. It was surprisingly easy to knock her unconscious and tie her up. But she is a fighter. I lied and told her if she didn't come with me more people would die. That's why she didn't kill me. She's super gullible.”

After a moment Elaethen motions for his men to let her go. When she is out of their arms she kisses him. I make my face look disgusted and disbelieving. After they kiss they hold hands and walk over to me. He says “I look forward to having you get tortured.”

He turns to Nightbreeze and says “Maybe you should torture her yourself. She caused you so much pain. And I'm sure she got really annoying to be around.”

“She was. She's always like a worried mother." She rolls her eyes than says "Grow up already.”

The man says “I'm still not sure we should believe them. She's a spy then your lover. Then a traitor. Then forcing me and my friends to talk. Then she's suddenly your lover again. The two of them didn't even hate each other at all on the way here. Don't trust her so easily.”

Elaethen says “You might be right. But your questioning me without my permission. For that you will die.”

He orders an Ogre to kill the man and it does.
