Jeno sighed once they both reached her house, the exhale full of disappointment and underlying stress.
"Chaerin," he began, watching as the girl turned around with droopy, dazed eyes. The Angel looked down at the girl he had been watching for around 4 years- already noticing how Jisung's presence was changing her.
"He isn't someone you should be involved in." Chaerin's eyes flickered between his eyes before looking down at the floor and kicking the ground with her slippers.
"He's dangerous, he could hurt you."
"I know." She whispered out. "But he didn't-" "No Chaerin, please listen to me- he's waiting till you're 18." "What do you mean?" She asked confused, looking back up at him.
Jeno threw his head back in frustration and unease before facing her again. "When you turn 18...you no longer have a guardian Angel."
Chaerin's mouth parted in slight shock and disappointment at the fact he hadn't told her sooner.
"What, why..." The girl's eyebrows furrowed as she mulled over it. "What's he waiting for?"
Jeno stepped forward, his gentle hands brushing against her shoulder and bringing it away to hold up a rogue black feather that layed on her shoulder.
"To kill you."
"...but why?" She questioned. "Why is he waiting to kill me and why does he have to wait till I'm 18? I'm so confused- everything is just...and you're not even telling me anything."
Jeno sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "I would tell you but I'm not allowed to." "What? Are you being serious...I could die and you're not telling me why?"
"Please...just stay away from him?" "Yeah, okay." She said, sighing.
Jeno's eyes lingered on the girl, already knowing he couldn't stop her from clashing with the demon, not stupid enough to believe they wouldn't cross paths- after all she is the half breed.
"I'm being serious Princess, you're too good of a person to be ruined by the likes of him."
