It had been around 2 weeks and Chaerin began tearing at her mind about the underlying problem of their relationship, the one barrier between them- her being Human.
"You know," Seyeon began, shoving food in her mouth as she looked at the Human girl who kept spacing out with a frown on her face. "You're going to get wrinkles."
Chaerin turned her head towards Jieun suddenly, making the two girls flinch. "How is Renjun able to stay near you without wanting to kill you?" Chaerin asked curiously.
Jieun hummed and rubbed her neck. "You see... Demons- uh how do I put this..." "They feed on Humans." Seyeon deadpanned, reaching over and pulling Jieun's turtle neck down to display a range of fading bite marks.
Chaerin's eyes widened at the sight and Jieun covered it quickly. "They need to feed in order to keep their demonic side at bay." "What happens if they don't?"
"They become... desensitised, like it's nothing that you've ever seen before." "We become like animals, shred anything and everything with our bare hands."
Chaerin gulped, leaning back in her chair with her head heavy with thoughts. "He must feed on other Humans..." She convinced herself.
Seyeon scoffed. "Please, he hasn't touched a Human since you got back."
Chaerin's head snapped up in disbelief. "Wait, he hasn't fed in..." She trailed off. "Why not?" She asked incredulously.
Jieun shrugged and sighed. "Because he probably felt guilty knowing his girlfriend is a Human-" "Should I let him feed off me like...I thought you die."
Seyeon and Jieun shared a glance. "What?" Chaerin asked, spotting the shared look, "What is it?"
Seyeon sighed, putting her drink down. "Listen," she began seriously. "It's true Human's die when they're drained fully but..."
"But what?" She asked, edge of seat. "I think there's something else about you two...the mark on your neck, where he bit you should have left when you turned human and i think-" Seyeon paused, eyes flickering behind the girl.
"What! Tell me!" She almost begged, desperate to know but the distant sound of laughing brought her out of it and she almost wanted to punch the demonic boys in the faces.
Not long after, she felt two arms encircling her waist and a kiss pressed to her head.
"Hey Love."
Chaerin glanced up, meeting the eyes of Jisung who smiled at her- earning a smile back.
"Hey Sung." She said, watching as Donghyuck let out a sharp sigh- slumping in his seat while fiddling with his fingers.
She shot a questioning look towards Jisung who shook his head, hand on the small of her back to lead her over to a seat.
"If you just listened then it wouldn't be this way." Seyeon muttered.
Jisung stole glances at Chaerin who sat rubbing her eyes from the lack of sleep- he noticed this and his hand outstretched over- warmth of his palm on her cheek.
The demon guided her head to his shoulder, the sound of her erratic pulse drowning out every sound as she turned to look up at him.
"You look tired, go to sleep love." He murmured, reaching over to brush the hair from her face so he could look at her, a soft smile ghosting on his lips.
"Thank you Sung." She spoke, a yawn escaping her lips as his hand subconsciously found hers.
His thumb lightly brushed over her skin, eliciting euphoric shocks to course up her body- nestling closer to him as his warmth lulled her into a sleep.
Before she drifted off into a slumber, she felt his lips brush over the crown of her head as he discreetly kissed her head.
