Chaerin felt like the air was knocked out of her when she came to a harsh stop, body jolting in shock.
By the time she registered what had happened she let out an unintended cry as she exhaled out.
It was a painful, small cry that echoed her vulnerability and it sounded clearly in the dark night and Jisung's eyes widened- roughly pushing the girl off and wiping the back of his mouth in disgust.
Chaerin's vision was blurred by her tears, not able to have seen the whole picture of the girl forcing herself onto Chaerin's Soulmate.
The unknown girl smirked when Jisung pushed her off and she couldn't help but glance at Chaerin.
The younger girl was absolutely heartbroken. She couldn't explain how it felt, every single nerve was coursing with fire, pain striking through her body and it was as if something was clawing at her lungs and mercilessly began to twist and turn it.
Was this how much it hurt to have a soulmate who didn't feel the same?
Jisung's eyes flashed a deathly red of rage as he looked at the girl that kissed him but the boy clenched his fists and took a deep breath to calm himself down.
Chaerin hastily wiped her tears and looked up with teary eyes to see Jisung walking towards her.
The girl bit her lip to contain her cries, shaking her head when he came closer- she couldn't breathe.
It felt like the whole world was crashing down on her, brink of a breakdown.
"Chaerin love-"
The girl let out a cry at the sound of the nickname he had given her right from the start and as weird as it sounded, she had just realised how much she liked- loves him.The sound of her painful cries made Jisung flinch, not knowing what to do.
"W-what- why would you-" Chaerin almost panted out speechlessly through her tears but her lips pulled into a frown as her eyes glistened again. She couldn't even finish her sentence, a whimper of sadness and the overwhelming feeling of heartbreak. She hoped it wasn't her own feelings and it was due to the Soulmate bond.
But she knew it wasn't.
It hurt. It hurt really bad.Her legs shook, unable to keep herself up and she crumbled to the ground, crouched down with her hands over her eyes.
Trying to muffle her cries, the cold wind carrying through her hair and her thin t-shirt.
Jisung gulped down the dryness in his throat, the lump getting bigger. He didn't know what to do.
"Chaerin, listen..." He began, unsure why he felt this way- why was it when he saw her cry- he wanted nothing more than to protect her from anything that could ever hurt her.
Hearing her cries made him angry- no but it wasn't anger. What was it?
Jisung's eyes flickered over to the girl who had now walked off into the distance- smirking as she kissed Jisung.
