ellie

With a pen between her teeth, Ellie silently thought to herself. A small notebook sat in her lap and she glanced up every five minutes or so to make sure that Dimitri, who was a lot more entertained with the Legos today than he was yesterday, was okay. She didn't want him to choke a piece or step on one because it would only make Blaze angry.

Ellie did not want to talk to Blaze, especially when he was angry.

So, she sat on the couch with her legs crossed, trying to think of what to write. She had been stuck in the large house for three days and today was when she finally had to courage to ask for a notepad. At first, Blaze was suspicious but he seemed to know why after a few seconds because he had all of her information. Of course, Ellie was going to write because it was something she did for a living outside of when she worked.

Blaze had Sebastian buy her a notebook with a few additions, like a pack of twelve pencils, pens that matched the colours of the rainbow and a few sharpeners, erasers and sticky notes, and a small corkboard. Ellie would have thanked him but he was always locked in his office, so she simply thanked Sebastian. Ever since yesterday, when she was given the small kit, Ellie had been engrossed in what she wrote. At first, she didn't know what... but then she had the perfect idea in the middle of the night.

Her.

Though writing about herself sounded like it would be more of an autobiography, Ellie made sure to change a few things: names, times and dates, places and many other things. That way, even though it sounded like a typical fiction novel, it really wasn't. This was Ellie's story and she was writing it from the beginning to the end. The end was where she was today.

"You haven't closed that notebook since you woke up," Sebastian teased as he stood in front of her, his muscles flexing in his suit as he crossed his arms.

"Writing is my passion," she murmured to him, glancing up to give him a small smile before writing another idea on a sticky note. She placed it on her corkboard, making sure everything was organized and exactly as she wanted it. "I've been writing since I learned how to hold a pencil. It's my safe haven from myself."

Ellie didn't mean to say the last part so she shook her head with flushed cheeks and continued writing. Sebastian hummed softly and she looked up as he took a few steps forward.

"May I?" He asked, gesturing to the cushion beside her.

Hesitantly, Ellie nodded her head, moving her attention back to her notebook.

"I hope you're growing more comfortable with the house, Ellie," he honestly said, noticing how Ellie's lips twitched in an attempt to hide her smile. That was good enough for him. "I know it hasn't been easy but you're strong for being able to get up and play with Dimitri every day instead of hiding in bed."

Ellie turned her head, having to tilt her head to look into Sebastian's dark eyes. He showed off a small smile before glancing at the corkboard of notes. She followed his stare and sent him a playful glare, flipping the board over.

"No looking,"  she said, watching as Sebastian's lips slowly spread into a grin. "What I write is for my eyes only."

He hummed and leaned back into the cushions, crossing his arms. Just as he went to open his mouth to respond, thumping came from upstairs before Blaze walked downstair. He held a stack of stapled paper in one hand and a protein shake in a bottle in his other hand, taking a sip of it before sitting down.
