NINE:
a morning of truths

He wanted to say that he did not like how used he was becoming to Ellie sleeping beside him but he enjoyed the silent company she provided for him. Plus, she was incredibly warm and he liked how closely she stayed to him as she slept.
And she was adorable when she first woke up... but he would never tell her that.
"Mm... Blaze," she tiredly mumbled into his neck, making his head lift up to glance at her backside as she mumbled incoherent words into his ear. "You're still alive, aren't you?"
Blaze couldn't help but chuckle, rubbing her back slowly when she let out a tired whine as she stretched. Ellie hummed and slowly opened her eyes, pursing her lips.
"You don't have to wake up so early," Blaze pointed out, raising one eyebrow. "It's eight in the morning."
"It's Friday," she mumbled, her eyelids fluttering as she struggled to stay conscious. "He still needs to be taught and it's obvious that the other nannies didn't properly teach him."
Blaze hummed, glancing between her violet eyes and her rosy pink lips.
"Your eyes are a very dark green when you wake up," she whispered, "compared to how bright they are later in the morning... n-not that I was staring b-because I wasn't! At all! I-I just happened to notice!"
Slowly, a smirk tugged at his lips as he watched her face flush red, the colour slowly beginning to crawl down her neck. She looked around nervously, her mouth opening and closing as she struggled to find a way to change the subject.
Blaze saved her the trouble by grabbing her cheek with one hand, leaning down and kissing her. Ellie's lips almost immediately parted with a content sigh, one of her hands running up through his black hair and curling her fingers in it. He let out a deep groan and grabbed her waist, moving her onto his lap. His hand gripped her hair while Ellie wrapped her other arm around his neck, letting out a small whimper.
It was odd how after the first time he kissed her, he couldn't seem to stop. Blaze did not want to overwhelm her—because he noticed how easily overwhelmed she could become—but he far too much enjoyed the feel of her lips on his to want to stop any time soon.
"Are you hungry, kotek?" Blaze asked, gently biting her bottom lip.
Slowly, she nodded her head. Right on cue, her stomach followed, rumbling loudly as it demanded for food. Blaze raised one eyebrow, smirking when she looked down at it with pursed lips.
"Yeah, a little bit," she murmured, yawning. Blaze hummed, rubbing her hips slowly as she sat up. Ellie froze immediately, her eyes slightly widening before she glanced down at his hands.
"What is it?" He questioned, frowning. When he followed her gaze, his eyebrows pushed together when he took notice of the scarring marks on her thighs and he moved one hand to her leg and ran his fingers over them.
Ellie stiffened, watching as his thumb rubbed them gently. Blaze looked up at her for a split second before following the markings, pulling his lower lip between his teeth.
