TWENTY • EIGHT:
an overwhelming thought
♠️"It was not the fear of how he felt about the entire situation, it was the fear of what Ellie would think whenever she woke up..."

Blaze paced back and forth in the bedroom, chewing on his fingernails. Ellie was sleeping peacefully in their bed, her arms wrapped around a pillow that Blaze had to replace himself for in order to leave the bed.
After their... session a few hours ago, Blaze was not able to sleep. Though he made sure that he was by Ellie's side whenever he could see that she was beginning to struggle to stay calm as she slept (just in case she had another nightmare), for the last hour, he had been up and out of bed. Now, there he stood, in his sweats, overthinking about everything.
"Hey, you called," Archer spoke from in the hall, opening one of the double-doors. His hair was thrown up in a messy bun at the top of his head and his face looked like he had just woken up. Immediately, his nose scrunched. "Ugh, it reeks of sex in here."
"Because I just fucked the shit out of my girl," Blaze blatantly said, watching as Archer grimaced. "Can we talk somewhere else?"
Archer nodded, obviously confused as to why he was called in the middle of the night by his best friend. Blaze left the bedroom and walked down the hall, heading straight to his office. Once they were inside, Archer leaned against the door and yawned loudly.
"What is it, braciszku?" Archer asked, scratching the back of his head as he watched Blaze continuing with his pacing from his desk to his bookshelf, then repeating the action repeatedly.
"I came in Ellie," Blaze blurted out, watching as Archer's entire face scrunch into a disgusted grimace.
"What the hell, Blaze? Why the fuck do I need to know what the hell you two do in the bedroom?" Archer exclaimed, gagging loudly before covering his ears. "I don't want to know this, nasty ass!"
"Listen to what I just said, jackass," Blaze snapped.
Archer sighed and thought for a moment, then raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, so what? You shot one in her. You want a cookie? Well, one that isn't Ellie's."
"Archer," Blaze said in a warning tone.
"Sorry, sorry," Archer muttered, clearing his throat. "I just don't understand what the problem is. You're both adults so you both know to do the mature thing in this situation."
"The problem is that I wasn't using a condom and she's not on birth control," Blaze grumbled, making Archer chuckle softly.
"Blaze, just think of it," Archer slowly spoke, "your girl—the woman you've told me several times you plan on marrying before you came home drunk last night—may be pregnant with your child... and you're freaking out because..."
"Because it's a child, idiot," Blaze said, glaring at his best friend.
"Yeah, and that child may be inside your future baby mama."
"Archer, you're no help at all."
Archer chuckled once more, shaking his head. "I'm just saying, Blaze. You've finally found a woman that loves your crazy ass, who Dimitri adores, and knows how to take care of you guys the same way you can take care of her and D. If anything, you should be excited as hell."
