SIXTEEN:
a desperate request

"So, tell daddy; what is it that you really want, baby..."

ellie

Ellie impatiently waited for Archer's thoughts on the peanut butter and chocolate chip cookie, biting her lip nervously. His face remained stone-cold as he took one large bite, humming to himself. Meanwhile, a large pot of penne noodles sat on the stove, another pot of sauce and ground beef in another one.

The day went by quickly. After Ellie's daring stunt in the morning with Blaze, she decided that it was better to keep her distance in hopes that he would forget about the moment by the time dinner came around. She knew he would be busy with work and talking with security while she was with Archer and Dimitri, so she was more than grateful.

Now, nearly seven at night, Ellie was putting together a simple dinner for her and the three men (and Dimitri) that were waiting for her to call them down.

"It's delicious," Archer said, still keeping his entire face blank as he finished the cookie. He nodded to himself, his decision on the cookies final. "Yeah, this is a delicious cookie."

A smile grew on her face and she thanked him quickly, grabbing one for herself. Not able to hide it anymore, Archer smiled, grabbing another cookie and biting into it.With Dimitri sleeping and Blaze upstairs working, she had time to talk with Archer. It was fun being able to talk to Archer and not feel uncomfortable—however, it turned when he began to mention the markings along the side of her neck.

"The sexual tension is very much visible now, and you can obviously sense it," he had told her, which had only made her blush. He had also said something along the lines of "you better get fucked before we go back or I'm losing my shit".

And, with a red face, Ellie had responded, "Thank you for finding my nonexistent sex life so interesting to you."

However, now that they were cooking, all Archer would talk about is how horrible he was at cooking and the lessons he wanted Ellie to give him while they were all isolated in the large house.

"If I agree to teach you to cook one day, will you stop complaining so much?" Ellie asked the giant dork she befriended.

Archer nodded, grinning childishly. Ellie chuckled, shaking her head as she took the bubbling sauce off of the stove, turning that section off.

"Archer, can you grab the pot for me and dump the noodles into the strainer?" Ellie asked, pointing to the sink.

He silently agreed, grabbing the giant pot and dumping it. Ellie grabbed the dishes and began to set the table, glancing at Archer at his unnoticed silence.

"Something on your mind?" She questioned, setting up the forks.

"You know what in the last two weeks that we've been able to hang out, I've called you one of my closest friends, right?" Archer said, keeping his concentration on the noodles as he shook them.

Ellie felt a blush creep its way onto her cheeks. "No, I didn't know that."

"Well, now you do." He grinned at her slowly. "I just don't want anything to happen to you and Dimitri because of bloody history
between us and the bastards who decided to attack."
