The man stood up so I noticed how tall he is. Matangkad sya! Hanggang balikat nya lang yata ako at kailangan ko pa talagang tumingala kapag tumitingin ako sa kanya. I am not tall nor short. Sakto lang ang height ko pero kung itatabi ako sa kanya ay magmumukha talaga akong maliit.
He glanced at the lollipop on the ground and looked at me before he sighed. Nainis ako sa naging reaksyon nya! He looked like he's disappointed in me for whatever reason!
I looked at my father.
"Bodyguard? Pa, naman! I already told you that I don't need a bodyguard!"
"You need it, Codee! My enemies will use you against me."
Idinipa ko ang mga kamay ko to prove a point. "See? I'm okay, Pa. Wala pang masamang nangyari sa akin!"
"At hindi ko na hihintayin na may mangyari pang masama sayo! We don't know what will happen in the future."
I groaned and stomped my feet on the ground. "Pa! I don't need a bodyguard! Hindi ngayon, hindi bukas at hindi magpakailanman!"
But my father didn't pay any attention to me. He looked apologetically at the man instead. Parang humihingi sya ng tawad dahil sa inaasta ko ngayon.
"I'm sorry about my daughter. She's stubborn pero mabait naman 'yan kaya sana ay habaan mo ang pasensya mo."
"I don't really mind, Mr. Vasco." the man said. saglit syang sumulyap sa akin bago ulit tumingin kay Papa. "I've seen worse."
I gasped. "Aba't—" but before I could think of a rebuke. My father stopped me.
"Codee Altera Vasco, enough." my father said firmly.
I grimaced when I heard my full name. I had no choice but to shut up and just glared at the man who looked so uninterested with what's happening around him.
"Be good to him, Codee. He was recommended by a friend and Mr. L, here, is kind enough to accept my request to be your bodyguard."
Napasimangot ako. So dapat pa pala akong magpasalamat sa kanya. Is that it?
I stared at the man. He's so damn good-looking! Ngayon lang ako nakakita ng ganitong kagwapong lalaki! Usually, my lollipop is the only one who can catch my attention but this man is an exception!

Mabilis akong napatingin kay Papa. "I'm sorry? I think I heard you wrong." may narinig kasi akong sinabi nya na sobrang Imposibleng mangyari. Kailangan ko na yatang ipa-check up ang tenga ko. Kung ano-ano kasi ang naririnig ko.
"Mr. L will stay here with us, Codee. Para mas maprotektahan ka nya." my father explained to me.
I think that there will be no more shocking revelation that I will hear today other than this. Ito na ang higit na nakakawindang na balitang narinig ko sa araw na 'to!
"But why?! You've never done this with my past bodyguards before! Hindi mo sila pinag-stay dito sa bahay!"
"Mr. L is different, Codee. He's a professional."
"You mean hindi mga professionals ang nakuha mo dati?"
"I think so. Kaya mo nga sila natatakasan."
I groaned. No, Pa. Kaya ko sila natakasan ay dahil mas magaling ako sa kanila! I'm a member of a secret organization and I was trained at least on how to save myself and some martial arts!
