Ryan's P.O.V.
I swung open the front door of my house. My head was drenched with sweat along with the rest of my body. Coach ran the practice super late, so it was already almost 5:00. I closed the door behind me, and headed towards the bathroom. I was in definite need of a shower.
I twisted the shower knob on and waited for the water to warm up. As I slipped my shirt off, I felt my phone buzz in the pockets of my sweats. I set my navy blue t-shirt onto the bathroom counter and slid my phone out of my pocket.
To my surprise, Andrea's mom was calling me. I decided to wait until after I took my shower to call her back, but she started calling again. After about the 3rd call, I decided it must be urgent. I tapped answer and put the phone up against my ear.
"Ryan?" Ms.Rose asked in a slightly panicked voice.
"Yes, Ms.Rose?"
"Ryan, is Andrea still with you? She won't answer her phone, and you were supposed to get her home by at least two today... Can I talk to her?" I could tell she was sort of angry, but mostly just worried. I scrunched my forehead in confusion. Why hadn't Bri gotten her home yet? I soon came to the conclusion that they were probably just out doing stuff, but still, normally Andrea was really good about getting home on time.
"Uhh... I think she's with Bri...?" I replied hopefully.
"You think...? Gosh darn it Ryan I love you, but ..." Her voice trailed off.
"Uhh... Thank you Ryan for the help. I'm gonna go call Bri." She hung up the phone before I could slip in another word.
Bri's P.O.V.
Nathan and I decided to go to the park, so there we were, sitting by the duck pond on an old, slightly-rusty bench. On the other side of us there was a small playground with screaming children bouncing around it.
"Baby, are you okay?" Nathan questioned with concern in his voice. I hadn't talked much in the car, and I still wasn't while we sat on the bench.
"Yeah... I guess." I sighed.
"I know you're not..." He placed his arm around my shoulders. His shaggy blonde hair and light green eyes looked pretty sexy with the sunset falling behind him.
I smiled a bit and gazed up into his eyes. He smiled back and bit my lip playfully.
Suddenly, I felt my phone go off in my purse. I rolled my eyes and pretended to shoot myself using a finger gun. Nathan laughed a bit, and then lifted his arm off of my shoulders.
"Answer it. It might be your mom." He suggested.
I sighed. Why did he have to be right? I unzipped my black and grey coach purse I had gotten last Christmas and then reached in for my white Samsung Galaxy. That's when I saw it was Andrea's mom calling. I probably wouldn't of answered it, but Nathan saw who the call was from and I wasn't ready to explain why I wasn't picking up my 'best friend's' mom's calls. I didn't really know why her mom was calling me in the first place, but I tapped answer and put the phone against my ear.
"Hello, Bri?" I heard Ms.Rose's voice say.
"Yes?" I asked politely.
"Can you get Andrea home? She is with you right?"
I mouthed the word 'shit' and Nathan looked at me with confusion in his eyes.
"Umm... No, I'm just with Nathan."
"Seriously? I am gonna kill that Ryan boy if he lied to me..."
