***We both carefully stepped out of the cell, making sure the coast was clear before quickly making our way to the exit. I pressed my ear to the door so I could hear if someone was there.
When I heard nothing, I slowly opened the door and peered out.
What I saw surprised me.
Green. Blue. And bright.
I saw the bright midday sun, partly shielded by tall trees. I had to squint my eyes to adjust to the sight. I had known that were in a prison but I assumed that the prison was part of a larger complex.
But then again, they are rogues. Where would the larger complex be?
Instead, Lilliana and I were in a prison in the middle of an incredibly dense forest. Probably miles from civilization. Miles from freedom and miles from our mates.
What the absolute heck were we supposed to do?
There were rogues walking again, guns in hand.
When did werewolves start using guns?
I scanned the area, looking for a place Lilly and I could quickly run through undetected and escape. We would probably have to shift into our wolves at some point though, just to get away faster.
And shifting?
That shit is painful.
However in the end it would be worth it. Our senses would be heightened and we would be able to navigate through the forest easier.
I furrowed my eyebrows when I saw a narrow path that none of the rogues seemed to be keeping their eye on. I showed Lilly and then she looked at me before making sure the coast was clear again.
"On three," she said.
