I did not pass the vibe check :/

A few hours had passed since Gabriel had left. Lilly didn't show up, like Gabriel said and when i texted him about it he said that she gone to the office for a few hours and the home, but she should be over soon. I hadn't really done much except eat and watch netflix. Frequently, I'd have to respond to Gabriel's text, and occasionally Lilly's. They kept checking up on me and it was incredibly heartwarming.

I was cuddled up with Zeus on the couch and when I tried to change positions a pain erupted in my stomach.

The freaking painkillers wore off.

Again.

I carefully got up from the couch and maneuvered my way upstairs. I made a beeline for my nightstand where the Advil was and took not one, not two, but three of the little blue pills. I swallowed them with a glass of water that was on my nightstand and was about to head back downstairs when I heard Zeus start to bark angrily.

Zeus never barks.

He only barks when there's new people in the house. But that's impossible. Who could be here? The door was locked.

Lilly would have to knock if she was here and even then, Zeus wouldn't have barked if she was here.

But then I heard heavy footsteps making their way up the stairs and I knew it definitely wasn't Gabriel. He would've told me if he was coming home early. And Zeus would not have barked.

My body went rigid and looked around for my phone so I could contact Gabriel but then I realized I had left it on the couch downstairs.

Of course this happens the one time I don't bring my phone.

I normally bring my phone with my everywhere. I am a phone fiend. Yet here I am.

I force myself to move and I lock the bedroom door. I then look out the windows.

Maybe I can jump out?

But no. There are rogues everywhere, surrounding the entire house. So in other words, I'm screwed.
