We stepped into the large office building and used the elevators to go to the top floor when Alpha Donnelly's and Gabriel's offices were. The elevator ride was silent and awkward. The only sound was the hum of the machine pulling us up.
I knew Lilly felt bad about lying to me, but it wasn't her I was really concerned about. I just wanted to see Gabriel and to know for a fact that he was really alive.
We made it to the top and stepped out.
"Talk to him, Addy. He loves you." Lilly said. She wrapped her arms around me to hug me. I hugged her back and when she pulled away I gave her a sad smile. She went into Alpha Donnelly's office to wait for him.
Soon after the elevator door behind me opened and Alpha Donnelly stepped out. He looked at me and gave me a curt nod before making a bee line to his office where Lilly waited for him.
I slowly walked over to Gabriel's office and hesitantly opened the door. I saw him sitting behind his large desk, staring at a file. His shirt had a hole in it, where the bullet had gone but there was no blood. His hair was slightly tousled and he ran his hand through it before looking up and seeing me.
I closed the door behind me and walked up to him. He stood up and waited for me to approach him.
"I know I promised," he began.
"I know, Lilly told me. I understand," I said before he could.
