His name left my lips effortlessly as I gazed at him.

Gabriel didn't take his eyes off me as he put the phone back behind me. My mouth hung open as I stared at him. This was not real. Was it? How could a nightmare be over in only three days? And then I remembered the phone call I had just received and realized the nightmare wasn't over, it had just been delayed for the time being.

A breeze went by, forcing my vision to be covered by hair, but I quickly pushed the greasy strands back and so I could make sure he was real.

And I think he was.

He was a dark grey suit with a black dress shirt underneath, the top buttons undone. His face wasn't clean shaven like the last time I saw it and his hair, even though it was slicked back, it was messy.

"Hate to interrupt, but where is Lilliana?"
My head snapped to the right to see Alpha Donnelly looking down at me expectantly. He too looked like a mess; and I thanked God Lilliana was right in the car over there because if she wasn't I was sure Kaden would kill me. Even if Gabriel was right there.

"Uh," I licked my dry lips, "The car," I motioned to the grey honda civic and he quickly turned around and walked towards the car. He tried to open the door, but I had locked it, so he knocked. He knocked aggressively I might add. It was fair that he was impatient. Alpha's are a lot more possessive and protective. From a distance I saw Lilly jump up, alert and frightened but when she realized who it was, she unlocked the car door, stepped out, and flung herself into his arms.

Alpha Donnelly wrapped his arms around her and picked her up gently, holding her close to his chest.

I smiled and my heart warmed at the sight.

"Adelaide," Gabriel said.

I looked towards him and noticed he was taking in my appearance. His eyebrows were creased with concern as he took in my dirt and bloodstained clothing.

He took a step towards me and inspected my shirt up close. "Is this your blood?" My response got locked in my throat and breathing hitched. Without responding, I wrapped my arms around him. My eyes welled up with unshed emotions and I felt him wrap his arms around me as well, hesitantly, as if he thought he was going to hurt me.
