Chapter 24

The next morning we went to the veterinary. Deaton and Peter wanted to talk to me and Isaac.

Me: What do you want? And we had to come alone?

P: It has to do with the fact that you are Alphas. You aren't like those who kill someone and take their place as Alphas.

I: Then, what are we?

De: True Alphas.

Me: What are we now?

P: You are True Alphas.

I: We heard that.

De: Well, yesterday didn't you become 20 years old?

Me: Yes, but what does that have to do with any of this?

P: There is a chance you were already werewolves before you were bitten.

I: How is that possible?

De: It is. Normally, if someone is a born werewolf, they transform when they turn 20. Or it could happen if someone "pusses" you to it. For example, someone could try to kill you and when they did that you would change.

Me: Okay... and how do you know that we were before we were bitten?

P: If you can remember, when you were little even when you got heavily sick it would pass in two days. If you were hurt and it needed 10 days to heal, you would heal in 5 and Derek in 8. That's why your parents never told you anything.

I: That's why Derek healed faster, even if he wasn't a werewolf.

De: Exactly. So, the fact that you were already werewolves and yesterday it would show, plus that were bitten...

P: And you were trying to escape wolfs bane and go through wolfs bane, that's how you became True Alpha.

De: This has some advantages, like you can go through mountain ash, with difficulty, but you can. And you can heal faster from wolfs bane.

P: There are some disadvantages too; if you kill, you will become just Alphas. And the most important, Deucalion will try to take you to his pack.

Me: I see. Anything else we should know about?

De: Yes, but it has to do with Derek. Yesterday morning, Deucalion came with the Alpha that Derek wounded. I saved him, but Deucalion killed him. Kali found out, and she thinks Derek is to blame for his death. She was in a relationship with this Alpha and she will hunt your brother.

I: Got it. We will warn him. Thank you.

We started to leave and he talked again.

De: I forgot to tell you; Deucalion wasn't always blind.

Me: What does that mean?

P: That he can see, but not in his human form.

I: Of course! When we were fighting the other day, at some point I noticed him pulling down his glasses and staring at us with red eyes. So, when he is a werewolf he can see!

De: Exactly. He wasn't always like that. He used to be a man with a vision. He believed that humans and hunters could live together. He made the mistake of trusting Gerard.

Me: Of course he would be involved in this.

P: I was there and I saw them. They were in a warehouse. Each went to their people. Then Gerard betrayed everyone. Even his own people. He had a spiked bat and hit them to make it seem like werewolves did it. Then he shot Deucalion in the eyes with arrows when he was down.

De: Then he came here. His eyes healed, but his vision didn't come back. Then his Beta wanted to kill him to get his position. But the opposite happened and he changed. That's all.

We left and got in the car.

Me: We need to find a plan to defeat Deucalion.

He nodded. We called Derek to inform him about Kali.

Derek's POV

I was in an old building with my Betas and we were training. Then my phone rang and it was my siblings; they told me what happened with Kali. Great, that's what I needed.

Bo (Boyd): Derek, what happened?

Me: You're leaving, that's what happened.

Er (Erica): Why?

I told them what happened.

Bo: Now, there's no way we are leaving.

Me: But, she's an Alpha.

Bo: So are you.

Me: I am. You aren't. And it's not going to be only her, there will be others. She is a coward to show up alone.

Ka: Maybe you're right, that's why I brought 3 more with me.

She said that and came towards me. We started fighting and she hit me with her nails on my chest. Then I turned too. Maybe I didn't kill her boyfriend myself, but I'm going to kill her.

As we were fighting, suddenly one grabbed Erica's hands, the other two grabbed Boyd and Kali came from behind and grabbed my hands. I couldn't do much because I was hurt and exhausted. The two Alphas brought Boyd and put me on my nails. He died.

Er: BOYD!!!

She screamed and freed herself from the Alpha that was holding her. Kali went and snapped her neck. Before I could even react the ceiling broke and Jennifer appeared. She raised her hands and everyone went back. I hit my neck and then everything turned black.
