I studied my reflection in the mirror for the nth time of the night, admiring myself as I brushed my side bangs using my fingers. I settled for a pink off shoulder ruffled dress that my mom bought for me, few days ago. It matches my light pink sandals with a single strap around the toe and another one around the ankle.
I curled my hair on a soft loose, wearing a flower crown on top of my head. I didn't put so much make up on my face because I wanted to look so fresh and natural.
A small smile tugged on my lips when CK suddenly crossed my mind.
Tonight was the night. And I promised, it's going to be the best night of our lives.
"Anak, nandiyan na ang date mo sa baba. Baka mainip na 'yon," mom informed me while peeking through the open door.
"Sunod na po ako, mommy," tugon ko na nakatitig pa rin sa salamin.
"Maganda ka na, anak. Hindi mo na kailangang magpaganda pa," panunukso niya.
"I know mom, nagmana ata ako sa'yo, eh."
Lumapit naman sa akin si mommy at kinulong ako sa isang mahigpit na yakap. "I can't believe you've already grown up. Parang kailan lang, nakakarga pa kita," naiiyak na sambit niya.
"Mommy, kalma. College Night lang ang pupuntahan ko, hindi po ako ikakasal."
Mahina niya kong kinurot sa tagiliran. "Ikaw talagang bata ka, puro ka kalokohan. Tara na nga sa baba," yakag niya.
Maingat ang bawat hakbang ko habang inaalalayan ako ni mommy pababa sa mahabang hagdan ng bahay namin. And when I landed on the last step, my heart made a flip-flops inside my chest when I saw her.
CK was standing there looking so handsomely girl crush ever. Was she planning to give me a heart attack tonight?
Her hair that was temporarily dyed in silver was pulled in a neat ponytail and it really suited her. She looked like a cool prince that freshly came out from the book. Now that she was wearing a pinstriped two piece suit, I'm sure the students in our campus, especially her fangirls and fanboys will swooned over her.
Should I get jealous now?
"Ready to go, beautiful?" CK asked lovingly breaking me out from my daze. "You looked like a Goddess tonight," she added as she lent her hand in front of me and I gladly took it.
"You looked like a prince," I complimented, proud that she's my date for tonight.
"Sige na. Lumakad na kayo. Baka wala na kayong maabutan sa event kung magtititigan lang kayo diyan," suway ni mommy. Pabiro pa niya kaming pinagtulakan palabas ng bahay.
Natawa na lang kami.
CK led me outside, carefully taking a steps afraid that I might lose my footing. Hindi ko maiwasang mamangha nang tumapat kami sa nakaparadang kotse sa labas ng bahay namin.
