my heart was still beating faster than normal as I sank into my seat in the classroom with a relieved sigh.

a small smile and light blush seemed to warm me to my very core as Ryoma sat beside me in his seat and pulled his notebook out.

I pulled my own out and hardly noticed the happiness still showing on my face as I flipped through a few pages of music notes, ignoring the darkness of the notes themselves.

Ryoma placed his hand on the corner of my notebook, keeping me from turning the next page and gaining my attention.

as I looked up at him he asked quietly "why don't you try to actually do your schoolwork today? I don't think I've ever seen you actually filling out the worksheets."

I rose an eyebrow at him before looking up at the ceiling thoughtfully.

have I done any work since school started?

slowly my gaze traveled to the teacher who had just come in, a glare settled directly on me.

I guess not, hmm, that can't be good.

putting my notebook away I pulled a different one out and opened it to the first page, smiling at how clean the pages looked from never being opened before.

I looked up at the teacher expectantly as the first lecture of the day was started.

is this what being normal feels like?

so warm and fluffy on the inside?

a piece of paper was passed back to me and I happily took it before looking down at the first question printed onto it.

1.) x + 3 = - 2

x + 3 - 3 = - 2 - 3

I blinked in confusion.

wait a minute....since when where there fucking letters in math?

what the fuck is this?

my heart practically stopped in my chest before continuing at twice its normal speed in an uncomfortable way.

oh yeah, I learned some of this last year didnt I?

at that realization, I started to calm down slightly.

I glanced around, noticing most of the others around me were silently working on their own while the teacher walked around and sometimes pointed stuff out to the ones struggling.

"I can do this," I muttered quietly to myself as I looked back down at the page.

okay, so the top one seems somewhat easy.

x + 3 = - 2

so if you subtract 3 from - 2 that should give me the answer to it.

- 5, right?

ok, I will plug it in for the bottom equation and see if it come out correctly.

- 5 + 3 - 3 = - 2 - 3

hey, that's right!

alright, I can do this!

I continued on like that for the rest of the worksheet and sighed heavily in relief once I was done.

that was awful but in a fun way.

looking over I noticed Ryoma was already done and smirking down at my page.

"what?" I whispered curiously at him.

he reached over and pointed to one of the harder problems on the page while he said "you messed up here on that one. it's wrong."

I looked back at my page where he was pointing.

"you forgot that it was negative," he said as he tapped the negative sign I had apparently missed.

I scrutinized my work before sighing heavily as I erased everything after that point and recalculated everything.

"oh, thanks Ryoma," I said as I smiled over to him.

he smirked back as he asked, "do you want me to tutor you, Yuki?"

butterflies filled my stomach and I answered without thinking with my own smirk "that would just be your excuse to spend more time with me though wouldn't it Ryo?"

a light blush dusted his cheeks as he averted his gaze, reaching up to adjust the cap that wasn't there thanks to school rules.

my smirk widened slightly and I felt my own blush slowly rise at the fact that he wasn't denying it.

"well?" Ryoma asked, still not making eye contact.

my eyes widened slightly as I realized he was serious.

"I'll think about it," I finally said as I looked back at my desk.

do I have any more time to study?

should I even worry about my grades?

we passed our papers to the front and the teacher was surprised to see mine in the mix, even going so far as to smile at me before continuing on to the next lesson.
