looking up i realized ryoma was standing beside the door of the music room with a smirk on his face as he watched me with amusement dancing in his eyes.

i frowned at him before stepping the rest of the way through the door and closing it.

"what are you doing here Ryoma?" i asked slightly confused.

his smirk turned to a small smile as he said "i was thirsty."

with a slight movement of his arm he held out a can of ponta.

i rose an eyebrow at him before hesitantly taking it from him.

without a word he then turned and started to walk away.

i looked down at the can confused as i listened to his footsteps slow to a stop, "well?" i heard him ask.

i quickly looked up to see him waiting for me by the stairwell.

with a shrug i followed him and he led me up the stairs to the roof.

once we were up ryoma walked to the fenced off ledge and sat with his back against it.

i followed suit and sat a few comfterable distance away from him before looking down at the soda i had in my hands.

it was cold and the tips of my fingers where starting to freeze as i rubbed my thumb in a nervous circle around the top rim of it.

after a few seconds of silence i heard ryoma sigh before opening his own soda.

i frowned as i looked at the can i was fidgeting with before asking "why did you get this for me?"

he glanced at me before looking up at the sky and said "i saw you crying."

 immediately i froze.

i could feel his eyes on me again as if he is waiting for me to tell him why i was crying.

my hands tightened around the can and i brought my knees closer to my chest before setting my chin on them and letting my hair cover my eyes so he couldnt see my face properly.

he didn't say anything for awhile as he took a few slow sips of his drink.

slowly i peeked up at him, he didn't seem as if he was going to force me to tell him.

he took the last gulp of his ponta and set the can down before looking down at me and saying "i figured you didn't want to be alone right now."

my eyes widened slightly and i didn't realize i was openly gaping at him until he smirked at me.

i quickly fixed my expression as he stretched his arms above his head before saying "call me when your ready to talk."

then he stood up and pulled a piece of paper from his pocket and dropped it at my feet before leaving.

once he was out of sight i looked down at the folded piece of paper in front of me.

slowly i reached out my hand and picked it up, unfolding it i felt my breath hitch as i realized what was written inside.

'call anytime you need me

***~***~****

-Ryoma'

he gave me his number?

why?

because he noticed me crying?

why should he care about that?

the bell announcing that after school activities where over rang and i jumped before standing up and pushing the piece of paper as well as the un opened can of ponta in my bag.

i quickly made my way down the stairs and to the front of the school, wondering if ryoma would be there like he usually is to walk home together.

i was surprised to see him as well as momoshiro waiting at the gates.

ryoma seemed to notice me as he raised a single hand in a lazy wave as a gesture for me to hurry to him.

a small smile light up my face as i ran to them so they wouldn't have to wait on me any longer.

"hey momo, are you walking with us today?" i asked with a sweet smile.

he grinned back before saying "yeah, im going to stay over at Ryoma's for the night!"

i smirked at ryoma in a teasing manner before asking "oh? a sleepover at your age ryoma? isn't that a bit childish?"

he rolled his eyes at me before saying "you're just jealous you don't have any friends to sleep over at your house with you."

i frowned slightly before looking up at dark blue sky that was just starting to show signs of darkening as i said "i suppose you could be right."

both boys turned to look at me in slight surprise before i smiled sheepishly and said "even if i did have friends im not sure if they would be too comfterable in my house."

ryoma tilted his head in confusion as momo asked "why is that?"

i laced my fingers together in front of me as a way to fidget as i said "my parents are a little weird."

ryoma lifted one eyebrow slightly as he said "your mom seemed okay though."

i turned in surprise and felt the question tumble out in shock "you met my mom?"

he nodded and looked up in slight boredom as he said "yeah, she seemed really nice."

i blinked as i looked down at my laced fingers in slight shock.

i wanted to ask what they talked about but momo was with us, i was almost positive that i didn't want him to know anything about my mom.

looking up i realized we were at the train crossing now.

we paused for the train before starting to walk again.

i looked over to momo before looking up at ryoma who was walking between us.

momo was talking about some tennis game while ryoma seemed to only be half listening.

i looked back down at my hands before looking up at my house that was becoming closer by the second.

i started to mentally prepare myself for seeing my parents again, not noticing ryoma glancing at me out of the corner of his eye.

when we stopped at my gate however i notice a note stuck to my door flapping slightly in the wind.

"what's that?" momo asked curiously.

i shrugged and opened the gate to my yard, fully aware that the two boys where following behind me out of curiosity.

when we got to it i unstuck it from the tape that let it flutter and opened it to see my mothers elegant handwriting.

'Koyumi dear,

your father and i have another business trip to attend.

we will be back at the beginning of next week so take care of yourself and don't skip any meals!

we love you!'

i blinked before a sigh of relief fell from my lips.

"why does your mom call you koyumi?" momo asked in my ear making me jump as i realized they had been reading over my shoulder.
