Mark's POV
I had leaned against the canopy bed as the room was spinning. I did not remember what happened or when it happened, but I do know that it feels like something hit me over the head with bricks. Amy must have noticed that something was wrong with me as she helped me sit down on the bed.
"Mark?" she asked as she helped me sit down. At this point I was holding my head in pain. "Are you okay?"
"No," I said wincing. "What happened Amy? The last thing I remember was that I was asleep until you started to shake me awake,"
"You don't remember what happened?"
"No, I..." I respond, "Should I?"
"Mark, he used compulsion on you,"
"Who did?"
"He did, your look alike? Dark?"
"Who's Dark?"
"Mark come on! You have to remember,"
"Amy, I would but I don't remember."
Amy seemed like she was on the verge of panicking. I had never seen a vampire panic like that before. I know I should panic too as I don't remember what had gone down. But for some reason, I wasn't panicking. Then I remembered that I was trained to stay calm in situations where you are meant to panic.
"Amy?!" I heard Sam as Amy turned around and saw that her brother was standing at the door, he looked directly at me, then at the bed and how I was completely shirtless. "Don't tell me you broke one of the oldest laws in our vampire culture!"
"What law?!" says Amy as her voice started to raise.
"The law that no vampire is allowed to sleep with a slayer!"
"Can't we deal with this some other time Sam?" responds Amy as she walks over to Sam. "Dark was here, he knew that Mark was here,"
"Great, now you've brought one of the oldest vampires here,"
"I'm being serious Sam, I don't know what happened, but he did something to Mark, I think he compelled him. Please he could be our only hope to defeating Dark once and for all!"
"Amy," says Sam as he lowered his voice. I stayed silent wondering what they were talking about. As they were talking to me, Sam looked at me with a look that said to turn away. Rolling my eyes, I stood up from my spot on the bed and made my way over to Amy's window. I leaned against the frame of the window and stared at the village just below Bran castle.
Sam's POV
Walking into your sister's room and finding out she was sleeping with the slayer isn't something you want to start your day off. When I walked in, I saw that Amy was panicking about something. At first, I was confused until I realized what was really going on. She had broken one of the oldest rules in our vampire culture. The law states that no vampire or slayer should sleep together, nor should they elope. If a law like that is broken. Then that would trigger one of the oldest vampires to come to this castle.
"Amy," I said as I grabbed her by the arm and brought her into the hallway. "What are you talking about?"
"Sam, he came," she said "Dark appeared in my room last night after Mark and I slept together. He did something to Mark,"
"and your point is?"
"My point is, don't you think that Mark would be very valuable? He could help us defeat Dark once and for all,"
"No, impossible, no one can defeat him, he's the oldest vampire around, not to mention he looks just like Mark,"
"Which is exactly my point! What are the odds that he would show up after Mark and I slept together?"
