As the different vampire groups spread out amongst the battlefield, Mark had pulled Amy into the castle determined to protect her. He didn't care if she was a vampire who could fight back, she would be the first target that Colby would go after. I held her hand as we walked to her room.

"Amy,"

"Yes Mark?"

"I hate saying this, but you need to stay in your room,"

"What? Why?"

"Because when Colby finds out that I'm alive you would be the first person he'd go after,"

"Mark, this is stupid, I am not going to leave your side,"

"I know but I can't bring myself to lose the one I love,"

Amy went silent for a few seconds. She seemed to be contemplating what to do, and what her reactions were going to be. Mark hoped that she would take the advice and stay in her room, but it didn't look like she was in for negotiating.

"I'm not leaving your side, and I will never leave your side, we fight together," she said, "Do I make myself clear?"

Knowing that it was useless to argue with her, Mark sighed. If this was the way she wanted to go down, then this was the way she was going to go down. As Mark was about to say something more, Sam entered the throne room and saw them.

"Mark,"

"What is it Sam?"

"I think the battle has begun, Colby is on his way to this castle right now,"

"How are our vampire allies doing?"

"Terrible, not only are the vampires fighting as much as they can, somehow the slayers knew what our next move was going to be."

Mark's eyes widened as he realized what was going on. Amongst the vampires there was a spy and this spy was working on both ends. He or she could be anyone, without thinking Mark pushed Amy into Sam's hand but as he was about to head for the door he stopped and looked at Amy, walking back to her; he cupped her cheek in his hand and kissed her on the lips with great passion. If Mark was going to die today, then this was all that Amy was going to remember. Pulling away the two touched foreheads with each other.

"I love you Amy," says Mark. He hadn't said that sentence in a long time and this was the first time, the first real time he ever said it.

"I love you too Mark," she responds as tears began to form in her eyes. The two pulled away and looked at each other.

"Mark please be careful,"

"I will,"

Without another word, Mark left the hallway and made his way outside. Throughout the field he could see vampires and slayers fighting against each other, bodies littered the ground as Mark jumped over a bunch of them and at full speed went after Colby. He was getting tired of this and Colby was not going to give up until he got the satisfaction he wanted. Bending over a corpse, Mark grabbed a sword and tried to find Colby throughout the battlefield. He stopped in the middle as all around him he could hear the screams of vampires and slayers alike. However, it paid off.

Mark heard a slow clap happen behind him. Slowly, he turned around and Saw Colby standing right behind him. His eyes showed signs of hatred and anger, he was full of revenge, from there Mark could sense that a battle was going to happen between the two.
