It was almost a week after everything happened with the dryad. For a while, Jax had been a little depressed because of the way things ended. She had actually visited the tree that grew that day a few times. It had soon enough become where she would spend some of her free time. Which was where she was at now. She sat underneath the tree as she worked on some of her homework. Alaric had been against it at first since it was outside of school grounds and there was the possibility of her getting hurt. Eventually, she was able to go as long as she agreed to carry her weapons with her. Jax had an extra weapon now in case she lost her ring again. Alaric insisted.

A sigh of frustration escaped Jax as she tried to read over the homework. The school put her assignments in Greek for her because of her dyslexia. The problem with that was that no one in the school knew Greek. There were a few that knew the basics, but that's it. This means that Jax had to spend time trying to decipher what some of the questions and instructions were saying. The current question is one she was trying to read for almost five minutes now.

"Why can't things be easier?" Jax inquired. She set her homework beside her on the ground. Leaning her head back against the tree, she closed her eyes. A break was exactly what she needed at the moment. She doesn't even know how long she's been working on it at this point. The sound of slow footsteps caught her attention. Jax quirked an eyebrow, "Is that you, Alaric?"

There was a moment of silence. Then, all of a sudden, a voice spoke, "No, it's not," Jax froze. It was as if everything in her body had been frozen in ice. Like somebody had paused the TV screen. She didn't even realize she wasn't breathing. Jax sucked in a quick breath as she ripped her eyes open. She leaned forward to see someone she hadn't seen in what felt like forever. "Hey, Jaxxie."

Standing right in front of Jacqueline Fontana was someone Jax thought she would never see again. "Silena?" Jax stood slowly, eyes wide with shock. Her older half-sister looked exactly the same as she did the last time Jax had seen her. Silena's face grew into a soft smile. One that had comforted Jax many times when she needed it most. Silena took a step toward Jax while Jax took a step back, backing into the trunk of the tree. Silena's smile fell. Jax shook her head, "No, no, it can't be- This is just some sick monster trying to use my sister's form against me."

The expression on Silena's face turned into sadness, "Jaxxie, it's me. I swear."

How she wished to hear her voice again. The days without her were so hard at first. Styx, they were still hard. But she couldn't let her guard down. Jax had no idea if this was even her sister. There were some monsters that could change their appearance. This might be one of them. Jax straightened up as she tried not to cry, "You can't be," The desperate look Silena had made the exterior Jax had up crack. Jax hesitated before saying, "If you're really my sister then tell me something only she would know."
