AUTHOR'S NOTE

Yoooo, my first Chloe fic! So far I've only been writing for Lucifer and, of course, that one Mazikeen fic that clearly set a lot of things into motion. We got a full-on series going on here! Which I actually plan to continue: Kai is the main character here, the rest are just supporting, but if all goes as planned, Mariah will get a fic of her own eventually (:

Anyway, as stated, Kai is my chaotic baby that is finally getting the attention he deserves!! I've been planning this fic since 2018 and I tried so many different ways to bring him to life but this feels very good and right. I'm super excited to share this story with all of you (': As for the rest of the characters, Izzy is the main character in my fic "Some Kind of Heaven" and Benji is from "Light Me Up", though he's been in both. Mateo is a very minor character from Some Kind of Heaven so if you're dying to start this one before catching up with those, you'll survive!

I want to dedicate this book to so many people, all of you that have pushed me into writing this, but a very special shoutout goes to latte-to-go and lowkeypadme for being just about the sweetest people imaginable. I appreciate you SO MUCH.

Warnings for this book include violence, homophobia and sexual references. On top of that, I've only recently begun to understood the troubling ways law enforcement works in the USA. This book paints a positive, trustworthy image and I now know that does not represent real life accurately. While this is still a work of fiction, I hope to work more on this side of my story in the future. I do not support or condone the current justice system, especially not in the United States.
