"WHAT IN THE ever-loving Comic-Con is this?"

More amused than anything else, Kai descended the staircase to interrupt Amenadiel, Charlotte and Lucifer, the latter of which was hastily trying to steer the attention away from the large, realistic wings on his back. His panic only widened Kai's grin, a hand reaching his mouth as he shook his head apologetically.

"I'm sorry, I promise I'm judgment-free, but you are the last person I'd expect to be into cosplay", the Nolan noted in all fairness, before catching himself with a reminder, "though, you are pretty comfortable with the whole Devil persona. I suppose it makes sense."

Silence took over the club as Charlotte occupied herself with several shots and Amenadiel and Lucifer exchanged hesitant looks. The more time passed, the more convinced Kai became that he shouldn't have walked in on them, yet he couldn't stop talking, rambling, trying to straighten the facts out for himself.

It wasn't until Amenadiel's hand landed on his arm that he halted and looked up at the two men staring at him.

"Perhaps you should sit down", Amenadiel attempted, his benevolent tone pulling a snort from Lucifer who stepped in and rudely pushed his brother aside.

"He's a big boy, he can handle it", the Morningstar insisted before taking Kai's hand softly and guiding his fingertips to the large wings sticking out of his back. "Feel for yourself, darling. I'm sure it's a startling reality to accept but what I've been telling this whole time, it's all simply true. I'm the Devil, Amenadiel here is my angelic brother, and my dear Mazikeen is a demon", he elaborated without pause, relentlessly sharing and sharing until Kai's amusement melted into confusion.

Another bout of quiet filled the air as he carefully touched the silky feathers, unsure how intimate of a gesture it truly was but Lucifer didn't seem to mind him circling and caressing the soft, celestial material. It was hard to accept, just like Lucifer had assumed, but with the evidence right in front of him, what else could he do?

"Huh", Kai eventually breathed out, frowning as he planted himself in front of Lucifer and wondered what to say. The longer he spent in his company, observed the wings, and felt the fluffy feathers, the deeper the belief in him grew. He couldn't explain it, but he was overcome with something resembling faith, his heart pounding in his chest and his eyes twinkling with hope as he nodded in slow agreement. "I think I believe you."

Snorting from the bar counter, Charlotte lifted a shot glass. "You and me both, kid. It's a piece of divinity, apparently. It leaves you no choice but to accept the truth", she explained, and when Kai faced Lucifer and Amenadiel to confirm, they both nodded oh-so-casually.

A part of Kai threatened to freak out, but an even bigger part was storming with enthusiasm. Angels, demons, all of it? That was beyond awesome, and since there was nothing for him to do except believe, he was choosing to break into a wide grin.
