"Leave!" The King's angry voice resounded within the four walls of the enormous throne room. I knew my mind was exaggerating when I thought the colossal marble pillars shook, the majestic crytal chandeliers swayed and the thick gold-embroidered maroon velvet drapes rustled at the intensity of His Majesty's voice but it might as well be true. King Thaddeus's anger was so great, it was almost tangible. "I don't ever want to see your face in my kingdom again!"
He stared down at the dauphin from the podium in front of his throne with the Crown Prince beside him. Princess Maeina was secured in her room accompanied by our cousin Desmond who is the Elite Order's best marksman, Sir Eduardo, Lady Marian and Lady Cora. In addition, no one can get to her door without passing a dozen royal guards.
"You can not treat me this way! I am the dauphin of Etazuré." Prince Alphonse whose wounds have been cleaned and has changed into another of his flashy outfits but still has his face badly bruised and swollen, stood with shammed confidence in the middle of the throne room with five of his bodyguards behind him.
The entire force of the Elite Order of the Royal Guards surrounded them, guns with safeties off but holstered.
"And I am the King of Reidonia. You are on my land, in my castle. You have no power here." King Thaddeus snarled. "Leave now while I still value the good trade relationship between our countries."
"If you value our trade relationship, you will not disrespect me like this and give me justice for what that brute has done to me!" The dauphin had the audacity to demand.
My brother who stood beside the podium by the Crown Prince and to whom that last insult was directed to clenched his fists and glowered at him. The dauphin visibly swallowed but kept his chin high despite his fear.
"Sir Aidan did the right thing. You are lucky to still walk out of here with your life after what you did to my daughter. It is by my mercy that your head is not on a spike this very moment." The King furiously said.
I swear if the pillars did not quake before, they have then at the force of the Sovereign's anger.
"What I did to her? I was merely visiting her. The Princess Maiena just overreacted." The dauphin scoffed and at that point, all hell broke lose.
"How dare you!" Aidan snarled as he stepped forward then reached for his gun and aimed it at the foreign Prince's head. "If I didn't kill you then, I will definitely blow your head off now if you so much as mention her name again!" He warned.
The dauphin's bodyguards were quick to respond and pointed their guns at my brother. We all reciprocated their move and aimed at their heads
"Huh!" Aidan smirked. "You think I'm afraid to die? I will gladly lay down my life for the Princess's honor. We will all die to protect the royal family. I couldn't say the same for your goons here."
"Run!" The King told the dauphin. "You are clearly outnumbered. The next word you will hear from me is the command to execute all of you right here if you don't leave now."
His bodyguards lowered their weapons and turned to Prince Alphonse. "Your Royal Highness, we need to leave." The head of his security said.
The dauphin just stood there and challenged the King's stare. "You can't be serious. You're risking a war with Etazuré."
"You wouldn't want to test my father's sincerity." Prince Nikolai said. "Let Etazuré bring us war. We are ready to fight them."
"Them?" Prince Alphonse scoffed. "You mean US."
"Not when you all die right now." The Crown Prince told him. As if on cue, the five of us stepped forward and pressed the tip of our guns to Prince Alphonse's bodyguards's heads while Aidan kept his direct aim between the dauphin's eyes.
The foreign Prince was clearly shaken but was still stubborn. He attempted to talk back but before he could, two of his bodyguards grabbed him on each arm and forced him backwards.
"Treason! This is treason! Unhand me!" He commanded but his bodyguards did not listen as they continued to forcefully escort him out of the throne room and he continued to struggle.
Once they were out, we all quietly holstered our guns and returned to our positions. We now all looked at the two royals at the podium who sat on their thrones while the Royal Steward poured them a glass each from a bottle of whiskey.
As the King and the Crown Prince wordlessly sipped from their glasses, our father was the first to break the silence. "May I speak freely, Your Majesty" He bowed before the King.
As the Marquis of Lagorenno, General of the King's army and the Sovereign's Chief Advisor, our father Lord Gerardo bowed only to the members of the royal family. As a son, who looked up to him all my life, it was surreal to see him do so.
"Of course you may, Gerardo. What's on your mind, my good friend?" The King asked in a much lighter mood than he had been a few minutes ago.
"Your Majesty, I would like to apologize for my son Aidan's brusque..."
"Nonsense!" The King cut my father's speech short. "Sir Aidan deserves to be honored for his heroic actions."
"But... Your Majesty, we might be facing war because of it." Our father said.
"So? He saved my precious daughter from that disgusting turd." The King reasoned and we all held back our chuckles at His Majesty's choice of words.
"Carlito!" King Thaddeus bellowed to the Royal Steward who immediately bowed to recognize that he was summoned. "Pour my friend Gerardo a glass of whiskey. He needs to relax." He then looked at my brother. "And prepare a banquet tonight for the valiant Sir Aidan."

A/N:
What do you think will happen next? Will Etazuré really declare war on Reidonia? Is this the last chapter we will ever see the dauphin? And most importantly, will the Princess join the banquet for her hero? (#priorities 😂)
I guess we'll find out soon.
Here's the prompt for this chapter.
