Chapter 11: Battle In The Corridor

Legrue Corridor

Suguha POV:

At that moment when that giant fireball attack hit both Kirito and Shi I was nervous. Yui told me to have faith in her daddy and uncle. Both Kirito and Shi were chanting spells before they got hit so I wondered what had happened. When the smoke cleared there were two large figures there. One was a giant monster with a long tail and the other was big dragon.

All of the Salamanders were standing there in fear. The dragon was Shi and the  monster was Kirito. Yui cheered them on as they began to tear through the Salamander one by one. Shi breathed fire on a few of them as Kirito ate one. The leader of the Salamanders told his men not to panic that they were mere illusions.

I couldn't tell I don't think illusions were able to do all of this. It made me think who were Kirito and Shi and how powerful were they really. Magic like that was incredibly strong and unheard of. I didn't know if I was scared or mesmerizing by it.

Eventually the leader of the Salamander party got scared and tried to run away. He was unsuccessful as he was corned by Kirito and Shi. With no other option he jumped off the bridge into the waters bellow. Right away there was a scream then the sound of an avatar pixilating. I looked down and saw his flame there floating above the water as one of the monsters returned to the deep.

There was another scream I looked over and saw that Kirito and Shi were about to kill the last mage. I needed to stop them before the ruined our chance to get any answers. "Kirito, Shi stop it you two we need him alive" I called out.

Both of them looked over at me Shi was about to crush the mage's head. "Shi put him down, we need to know why he and the other Salamanders came after us" I told him.

With that Shi dropped the Salamander down. Before he could run away Kirito slammed his fist down on the ground scaring him. After that he and Shi returned back to normal as there spells had worn off.

Y/N POV:

Man that was awesome I could of never have done that back in SAO. All of that power as a dragon was exhilarating I could get use to that. I could tell Kirito was enjoying himself his illusion did look like the Gleam Eyes. I guess he wanted to protect his fear on to those Salamanders. As we were about to kill the last one Leafa stopped us.

She said that we needed to keep him alive so we could get answers from him. With that both Kirito and I changed back into our regular forms. "That was awesome" Kirito said "yeah it sure was" I replied as we high-fived each other. The Salamander guy was looking nervous.

We decided to calm him down a bit by talking to him. "Man you guys had us for sure" Kirito said to him "if it wasn't for Leafa we'd be dead" I said. "That formation you guys did back there was pretty great" Kirito said.

Leafa interrupted us and pulled her katana on the guy. She demanded that he tell us why that party was sent after us and who did it. That wasn't helping anyone it only made the guy not want to talk anymore then he already did.

Kirito and I needed to act fast before the guy wouldn't be any help at all. I went over to Leafa and put her katana down. "Why did you do that?" she asked "look scaring him isn't going to do anything let Kirito and me handle this" I answered. Leafa huffed and put her katana away with that Kirito and I went up to the guy and put our hands on his shoulders.

The guy was nervous at first but then Kirito and I started talking. "Listen buddy you and your pals put up a good fight" I said "yeah we almost died out there" Kirito added. "But you didn't" the guy said "yeah we didn't" I said "however we did get all of this loot from your pals" Kirito said. "It could all be yours as long as you answer all of our questions" I said giving the incentive.

"Really?" the guy asked "you know it" I said "man of my word" Kirito said. With that we began to laugh a bit I noticed that Leafa and Yui were mad at something.

Small Time Skip

With that the guy began to answer all of our questions and we didn't even need to put up that much of a fight. The guy explained that he got a message from this Gtacs the one who jumped off the bridge. "The message said to gather up so we could hunt down a group of three players, I thought a party that big for three players was overkill but since I'm a grunt I didn't argue" the guy said. "However when I was told that two of those players wiped out Kagemune's party I realized that those guys must be strong" the guy said. That name Kagemune I had heard it before it must of been that guy who attacked Leafa in the forest.

"I also saw a giant force of Salamanders heading out towards the North" the guy said. Leafa thought that they must of been heading out towards the World Tree. But then the mage said that they weren't ready to go there just yet they would need ancient-level gear to do that. That made us think why would they need a large force if they weren't going to the World Tree.

With all of the answers the mage gave us both Kirito and I gave him all of the loot as promised. I saw him walk away as he was scrolling through his menu. With all of that over we headed to the town. The giant stone wall had dissapeared making it easy for us to go there now.

Leafa stopped us and asked if the monster and the dragon were Kirito and I. "Well you see I tend to forget things when I'm in the heat of battle" Kirito said. "Dude that makes you sound like a psychopath" I said "does not" Kirito replied. "What about you Shi?" Leafa asked "I remember everything I remember how the fired their magic to the way they swing their weapons" I answered. Leafa was in awe at my answer "ever since I was little I've had this photographic memory" I said.

"You know daddy you and uncle were slashing at them" Yui said. "Yeah it was fun to do that" Kirito said "he's right it was fun plus I got to shoot fire from my mouth" I said. "I didn't think an illusion could do that" Leafa said "well it wasn't an illusion" I said. That made both Kirito and Leafa stop "wait so that was all real?" Leafa asked "yeah man that was all you?" Kirito asked.

"Yeah it's one of three special abilities the Dragoon race gets, the other two races have their special abilities, one of mine is becoming a dragon" I said. "Dude that is so awesome I wish I could of been a Dragoon" Kirito said.

After all of that Yui brought up that Kirito had eaten some of the Salamanders. Leafa had asked what they tasted like Kirito said they tasted like yakiniku before being burnt. "The ones I ate tasted like spicy curry" I said.

Kirito had stopped joking then he went over to Leafa and grabbed her hand. She was nervous at first but then Kirito did something unexpected. He bit her finger he let go right away when Leafa slapped him leaving a mark on his face. "Ouch" he cried "dude you deserve that" I said.

/N: Hey there readers hoped you enjoyed the chapter. I am sorry it took so long for me to update but I needed to work out a perfect writing schedule for me. So now everyone Wednesday you will be getting a Hidden Player chapter. I hope this works well with all of you and that you understand that I am a very busy person with three other stories to write. I am sorry that the dragon fight scene wasn't really that long and didn't have much action in it. Do not worry though there will be another fight scene coming soon I'm sure you already know.
