After just 1 season of Sunday league football, Gary finds himself in a place where he could be playing in the tenth tier of English football for hashtag United.
The manager is Jay devereux who has managed clubs In non league before. 35 games in a season so this is the chance for Gary to make it into the first team. Gary was really excited about the upcoming season and that he can have the chance to prove himself as a proper semi-pro player.
Gary wasn't picked for the the first 12 games. The first game he was picked for was a cup match where he was on the bench. Gary was after 75 minutes as the score was still 0v0. Full time came as Gary had 1 chance after he came on. As the game was 0v0 it went to penalties. Gary took his as it was 6v5 and if Gary scored, Hashtag would win the game. He did a weird run up but he scored to put hashtag through.
Devs said you will be on the bench for the next league game instead of Neil Richmond. Gary was excited. He could play his first ever league game for Hashtag United.
After 12 league games, Hashtag were sitting 4th in the table. Gary was on the bench for this match as Ross Glead scored to give hashtag a 1v0 lead at halftime. Gary came on for George at halftime as he went on to not make much impact as hashtag went on to win the game 1-0 and move up to 3rd in the table as they continue their race for the title with the other 3 teams.
Gary didn't play for the next 15 games until the 27th game where he started as both of the other forwards had knocks. Gary scored in the 65th minute as hashtag went on to win the game 1-0. Devs said to gary after the match that he would start in the next game and if they win that game, they can secure the league title with 6 games to go and go 19 points clear at the top of the table.
Gary started the next game but failed to score as hashtag won 1-0 and they won the league. They are going to lift it up on their final home game of the season.
Gary was sat out until the last game of the season at home where they will lift up the trophy. Gary scored a hat trick inside 25 minutes to put hashtag 3-0 up and win them the game. As Gary was going up to receive his medal, he felt nervous as next season he would be playing in a higher division.
