This was it, the final year of high school. He may never see Tom again unless of football. Gary had to go and prepare for the first game of the season for Oasis. He was so pumped up for as the the team came out and shook hands. Gary scored the first goal to put his team 1v0 up inside 25 minutes. They went into half time 1v0 up as the boss said keep doing what your doing and we will win the game. In the 50th minute Tom scored a brace to oasis 2v0 up. It ended 2v0 to put oasis top of the table and the boss said we have a team that can win the league. He entered the second game and gary was placed on the bench. He was not happy but that was because he was top scorer. Gary was brought on for Tom. He got sent off 1 minute after coming on and he injured someone on the other team. He arrived home and told his mum about the game he knew he would be suspended for 3 games now and they were the 3 most important games of the seasons. His mum wasn't happy but he didn't want to go to school.
He came back and they were bottom of the table. He knew he had to score some goals in the second half of the season. He played the next game and scored a hat trick as they went on to win the game 3v0. He got praised by the crowd. He entered game number 7 as top scorer even after missing 3 games. They had to win the next 3 games if they wanted to finish top and become champions. They went into the 7th third and they won 2v1 as tom wasn't involved. The went into game 8 top but they lost this time 5v4 as tom scored 2 and Tom scored 2 buy they went into the final game second and they had to win to become champions but they had to play the team who are top of the league. They had a good start as they went 1v0 up inside 30 minutes and that was half time. Tom said to Gary why didn't you let me score. Gary didn't know how to reply. They went into the second half 1v0 up and Tom scored the second goal to put his team 2v0 up but the other team came back to make it 2v1 with 10 minutes remaining. Gary made sure that wasn't enough as he put his team 3v1 up and they went on to win the game. The boss said that they did really well to get the job done.
Now they could go home and have a break so they could get ready for their biggest year ahead. Gary got to take the trophy home as he was the captain and he also got to take the golden boot trophy as he finished top scorer with 10 goals.
