The rest of the day went by with Cindy avoiding anyone and everyone. She wanted to say as little as possible till she could figure out what was going on. The wounds mystery had to what till she figured out the current incident.
She arrived at home and went to her room to try and put together what she knew.
She grabbed her notebook a pen and though that maybe right down what she knew would help with what she didn't.
"Nothing...." She mumbled on the verge of tears again. She went over the information she had over and over, but all she knew was what the gang had said. She had no memory of leaving the house the other night. "Wait!" She shouted and rushed out of her room to find her aunt.
She burst into Clara's room and Clara jumped at the loud sound the door made hitting the wall.
"What in the world girl!" She was breathing heavily as she placed her hand on her chest. In her other hand she held a book and on her nose sat a pair of black reading glasses. "Why did you try to give me a heart attack?"
"Oh..." Cindy stood up straight. "Sorry, I was in a hurry."
"Well then." Clara placed a bookmark in the crease and closed the book to give her niece all her attention. "Out with it then."
"Did you see me leave last night?" Cindy didn't want to beat around the bush. Why should she? It was a simple question that wouldn't provoke any punishment to her.
Clara was shocked and blinked a few times before answering. "No. I can't say I did. Why? Did you leave?"
"Not that I know of..." Cindy sighed. This wasn't getting her anywhere. Clara hadn't seen her exit the building, but that didn't mean she didn't.
"Well if you did, it would have been a really sneaky escape," Clara thought back to the night before. "or one which you did through your window, cause of my movie marathon."
"There is no way I would forget that..." She really wasn't liking the sound of the whole thing. Was she doing things without knowing she was doing them?
"I'm going to sleep." Cindy said grabbing the doorknob. "We'll figure it out some time tomorrow after school. I don't think it's something you should worry about right now."
"Are you sure?" Clara asked picking up her book. "Nothing serious?"
"Nope." Cindy smiled and headed for her room. Things weren't adding up. Her lose of memory, Bruno's scratch. Nothing made sense. Unless, what she thought was true, was two plus two was ever going to equal four.
