"Lim Seyeon!"

I jumped up at the sudden scream, "yes sir?" I stood up gulping loudly.

"Is class outside that window?"

"Uh... no, sir..."

"Then stop looking through it!"

I was told to stay behind at the end of the day. I had never been held back before.

"What's going on with you?" My teacher asked me.

"N-nothing... it won't happen again. I promise." I kept my head low. I didn't want to get in trouble more than I already had. It was my senior year after all, and I didn't want to break my perfect record. I couldn't.

He hummed, leaning on his desk, "you must be stressed because of the exams. Take it easy kid, I'm sure you'll do well. You always have." His tone softened, a reassuring smile gracing his features.

I nodded, not saying anything.

I roamed the streets for what seemed like hours, not wanting to head home yet. He was right; the exams were stressing me out, but I couldn't help it. I needed to pass. I needed to get "top of the class". I needed to win a scholarship. I needed to go to college.

By the time the sun started to set, I made my way to the subway station, ready to board the next one home. As the front lights of the tram illuminated the dark tunnel, the airwaves disheveled my untied hair.

It was around 6 p.m. Not the time I usually headed home, but lately, my life had been a constant variable.

I sat in the left-most seat of that old subway wagon. I put on my headphones, happy to numb the loud sounds around me as I turned the volume up a bit. I closed my eyes bopping my head to the beat.

Three more stops and I'll be home.

The subway came to a halt. I watched as the scattered mass of people moved in front of me. Seats remaining empty for just for a few seconds before someone new claimed them.

I looked to my left, to where the door was, and saw a boy standing there. His uniform bright yellow. SOPA. Hah, I wish. I didn't have the money to attend that type of school.

I looked at the small stain on my gray uniform skirt and tried to wipe it off with my hands to no avail.

How easy it must be to get into a good music college from there...

His eyes remained closed as he bounced his head to whatever tunes came through the pair of headphones he was wearing.

I couldn't help but look. That was until our eyes met.

I batted away, looking at anything else. I raised the volume of my music and pretended it never happened, but a hand soon snapped one of my earphones out.

I looked up at him surprised.

Crap! I shouldn't have looked at him!

I tried to defend myself, to question what he was doing, but no sounds came out. Awestruck by the handsome stranger before me.

He placed my bud in his ear before handing me his own. What is he doing? He smiled widely, unexpectedly warming my heart. Confused at the sudden action, my mind went blank, a rosy-pink color covering my cheeks.

"Funny," he said, "it's the same song."
